(S18E09) No, the biggest fraud isn't JT. I think we all know the biggest fraud on Survivor this season. He's the castaway we'd probably vote "Most Annoying." If we examine recent current events, we can see that many fraudsters are getting their just desserts. Will we be lucky enough to get Coach gone from our TV screens?
It's all about Coach
Yes, I realize I might be sounding like a broken record about the man. But each week, I'm more repulsed. From the silly clothes, to the extremely silly hairdo, to his stories, and even to his basic alpha male mindset. Now, I don't mind the more typical alpha male. But Coach generally sucks at all the challenges, too. If I'm going to be entertained by an alpha male, he should at least excel. Or, if he can't excel, eye candy is okay with me. Is that asking too much?
Post merge challenges
Both the reward and immunity challenges were a bit different this week. Of course, Coach has thrown a metal ball onto raised tiles to break them before. He probably did that after he escaped from his Amazon captors. The immunity challenge had them tied to a rope, untangling the rope as they scrambled through obstacles. We've seen similar, but not quite that one before. It looked painful to me.
I'm not getting the alliance thought processes
Last week the alliances were flying all over the place. The Timbira tribe is more than happy to off some of their own and adopt a Jalapao or two. Tyson and Coach both take credit for the plan to vote out Brendan or Sierra by splitting the vote in case Brendan uses the hidden idol to save himself. Everyone wants JT on their side. Pretty much wherever JT goes, so do Taj and Stephen.
What I'm not getting is why JT, Taj, and Stephen went along with the Tyson/Coach plan for voting tonight -- especially when Coach went on about wanting only the strongest (most physical) players in the game. Heck, even Erinn, Sierra, and Debbie would probably do themselves a favor by blindsiding Coach. Since Tyson won immunity, he couldn't go tonight.
I think the person most dangerous to be in the finals with would be JT as everybody seems to adore him. But if the non-alpha male castaways want any chance to stay in the game, they seriously have to get rid of Coach and Tyson whatever way they can. Well, I guess they can't murder them in the middle of the night. They would have stood a better chance in their own games to keep Brendan tonight rather than follow the Coach/Tyson plan.
Aren't any of them seeing Coach for the Dragon Slayer he is? Er, according to him anyway. If he uses the phrase once more, I will scream out loud and annoy my neighbors. Maybe they're thinking he would be safe to be against in the finals because everyone thinks he's a loon. Tyson is the more dangerous of the two -- he actually wins things.
Why, oh why, didn't Brendan go ahead and use the idol tonight? After all, it's not like they didn't know he had it. Bye-bye, Brendan.

I've seen all 18 seasons of "Survivor". Never has there been a player I hated more than "Coach". All I wanna do is punch him in the face repeatedly... And I am a peaceful human being.
Kudos to the production of "Survivor"... I really thought there was a chance "Coach" would be voted out tonight. And judging from the previews next week will (again) be all about him. Sigh...

Aw c'mon. You didn't bust out laughing when Coach said his poses couldn't be found via an internet search? I spit guacamole all over myself! (And now we know where he got those silly poses.)
Coach is just comedy gold. I don't want him to win but at least stick around until the finale episodes.
Taj or Tyson FTW.

I have to agree that In all the seasons of survivor I have never detested a player more than Coach. His boasting nature followed by childish pouting when he loses a challenge in that he just exclaimed "I have!" after someone said "I have never done this" is disgusting. His campfire stories are plucked straight out of a B-grade action movie, and no one believes him, not even Jeff.
If I had to hear about cutting the head off a dragon, and how he is the dragon slayer one more time I was going to turn my TV off. Is he a D&D Fan? an Indiana Jones incarnate? The Tony Robbins of Tocantins? or the biggest wienie with a ponytail and feathers ever? I am going with the latter.
I want JT to win. If not him then Tyson (because he is hilarious)

I'll have to pile on. Coach was an annoyance for a bit, now he's just plain ruining the show for me. I can't hear another fabricated tale from him. I can't watch his freakin warrior poses. I can't watch him try to claim responsibility for a plan. What a douche.

It just bugs me that CBS is taking the easy way and using up loads of show time on Coach. Are the rest of the players and what goes on with them that boring? This time the whole opening of the show was Coach.Personally I think Coach was picked because they knew how easy it would be to use him as a show focal point thereby making production easier.
If this is where Survivor is going, finding goof-ball people to insert into the cast and focus on as well as focus on how much they bug the rest of the cast, then I'm gone from watching it.That's just Big Brother in a shack.

I think the reason Taj and Stephen didn't stick with Brendan was because when the tribes merged Brendan acted like nothing was going on and didn't even bother to talk with them. As much as I hate Coach, what he did was go right after TJ and got him on board. If I were TJ or Stephen I would have gone with Coach and Tyson too otherwise they could pick us all off.
The people there need to get Tyson out as soon as he doesn't win immunity. He's too good in challenges. Coach has never won anything or come close to winning. He's not threat. Just a big mouth.

Yes, OMG, is he a douche! He reminds me of the perpetual liar in elementary school. The kid that has done that before, or has this, or his dad is that....grow up you arrogant prick.
I had a coach like him in high school...he "forgot more than you'll ever know" about basketball. Nobody respected him and we sucked. I pity the school that has to deal with him under their employ. I'm sure working with him is an everyday joy. Or is this one of those positions where they gave it to him and gave him the office down beside the equipment room on the far end of the building so they don't have to listen to his mindless rants.
He's got all this time to be taught some "hilarious" tibetan monk yoga stance, when's he have time to do all this stuff? Last I checked, running around the world like Indiana Jones costs money...where's that coming from?
Sounds like he's probably fallen ass forward into his parents money and never had a real job a day in his life.

Just to echo what everyone else has been saying, Coach is without a doubt public enemy #1 on TV for me these days. A total arrogant gasbag who doesn't even seem to try and hide the fact that he's making stuff up the longer he stays in the game. How he's managed to survive this long I'll never know.
Tonight's Tribal though, probably one of the more gut wrenching ones I can remember just for two moments involving Brenden. When Sierra's name is called after his he has this "....no...wait a second...." look which was sad enough, but the second time the aghast look that comes over his face as he realizes he'd been double cross was borderline heartbreaking. I have to believe Taj wrecked herself to a lot of the fans tonight with that move.

As a huge survivor fan I feel I must make a confession......
I want Coach to win.....and I don't know why?
Maybe its because nice-guy Bob won last year. Maybe this year it would be fun if the pompous villian won.
What I do know is that when Coach stayed over Brendan I was really happy........

I wanted to puke last night. Those idiots (Taj,JD, Stephen) they just blindsided probably one of the most honest players. They could of voted with Brendan and Sierra and probably at least one of them would make it to the finals now I think all is lost. If they think they can move with those two idiots they are wrong. I hate coach, and Tyson is as full of himself as coach just in a different way. I swear if one of them doesn't go soon I will have to quit watching because it is making me sick!!!

I actually think it was a smart play by the JT/Stephen/Taj alliance.
After getting rid of Brenden here (and simultaneously eliminating the other idol), Sierra is an easy pick-off next. That leaves 7. JT knows that Erinn has no alliance and does not like Coach, so they grab her for a 4th and pick off Coach/Tyson/Debbie one-by-one. Erinn goes after that (she can't really improve beyond 4th at this point) and you have your final 3 of Taj/JT/Stephen.
Leaving Brendan in allows for too many other possibilities.

I was so happy Brendan got blindsided. As honestly goes there isn't one of them that is. They are playing the game. Coach & JT are the best players as I see it. It is all about strategy and they are good! There is a villian and a eat out of hand person on every one of these. These 2 guys are good players. Coach may not win any games but he doesn't have to at this point. It will soon be where they all better learn good strategy or out they go!

Coach is Gold!!!!! I hope he takes it to the end. It will be awesome hearing how much everyone hates him. I love the bitching. GO COACH GO!! GO COACH GO!!!
I was in tears with his story telling. And his 'I HAVE COMMENT' was comic genius (even though he was dead serious). HAHA this has been the funniest survivor yet.

What makes Coach a great player? Sucking in every competition? Taking credit for everyone else's plays? Making up ridiculous stories that no one can verify? I am not seeing his "humor" either. He takes himself very seriously. I really believe the man is certifiable. Would love to see some big cat or something face off with him. Bet he'd cry like a baby.

For the last few Survivor episodes, I have decided that the winner is decided by the producers before the play ever begins. And the whole thing is just a scripted series. No group of people could be stupid enough to allow coach to stay in the game, and let him manipulate the entire show the was he does. He must be a really good actor tho. Surely he's not so stupid that he thinks they all believe him! How I would love to be able to participate...

It's pretty obvious Coach is just playing a character to make sure he gets a lot of screen time and to make sure people remember his name (very similar to pro wrestling).

Andrew, Comment 16. As someone that has had the displeasure of meeting Coach before (around 10 years ago), trust me when I say he isn't playing a character. That is who is actually is. I'm friends with someone he worked with, and introduced me. We were talking and it came up that I was staying on in a high-rise building(I was there on holidays). Then he told me how he almost died one day when he fell off a 17th story balcony, but he managed to grab the railing of the balcony on the 2nd floor to save himself.

as annoying as "coach" is... AND HE IS ... he makes a great drinking game while we watched the show! (1) drink every time he says "I Have" and (2) drink every time he refers to dragons, dragon-slayers, etc.
By the end of the episode, you're buzzed enough that you're yelling at him on the TV, and find his rambling made-up stories THAT much more amusing! :) After all, he's on the screen and running his mouth WAY too often to hit the "Mute" button each time!
