Someone has figured out what those Fringe symbols mean

Fringe iconsAll of the shows that J.J. Abrams has created or been involved with seem to have some bigger mystery at its core. Lost, of course, and Alias. Not sure about Felicity though. Did you ever get judged by an intelligent steam of smoke or go around finding artifacts that solve a centuries old mystery? Anyway, the pattern (ha ha) continues with Fringe.

You've seen the flashes of icons and symbols at the commercial breaks of every episode of the FOX show, and fans have been wondering if they're just cool things to show or if they actually mean something. They do mean something, of course, but it may not be what you think.

Julian Sanchez over at arstechnica.com has figured out what the symbols mean, and since I was bad at codes and math and things of that nature in school, I'll let you click on the link and you can read the explanation of what they mean. Basically, they refer to people/places/events in the episode and don't really lead to anything bigger. Of course, this could be just part one of the puzzle, and next season could have clues that we have to tie in to these clues to solve a bigger mystery. That's if they've even thought that far ahead. I still think the Lost mystery was probably changed as the seasons went along (and changed when the show had a definite end date).
