I admit it, I've been watching The Celebrity Apprentice and I have been entertained by every minute of it. Yes, it doesn't take much to amuse me on Sunday nights, as you can see, but those of you who do watch the show must agree that this season's crop brings the drama! The cast may not include Omarosa and Piers, last season's winner, but Dennis Rodman, Clint Black, Annie Duke, Joan and Melissa Rivers stepped up to the drama plate.
Warning! If you haven't watched last night's episode yet, stop reading this post now and come back once you've watched it because I know you'll want some place to discuss the boardroom drama.
Let's get right to it, shall we? I understand why Trump decided to have both teams lose the task but I was infuriated when he decided to fire Tionne because she pulled a "Bradford Cohen" by offering to come to the boardroom to support Melissa. Tionne is one of the best contestant and he fired her minutes after reminding everyone how good a job she did!!! I guess he thought he had no choice to do so since he did it to Bradford...
What I really don't get is the firing of Khloe Kardashian. Her DUI happened almost a year ago, so it's inconceivable that Trump, or at least the producers, didn't know about it. As Jean Bentley from Entertainment Weekly wrote up in her recap of last night's episode, she "spent time in jail, and is taking court-ordered alcohol education classes. [...] What else was this girl supposed to do? She served her time, apologized, and seems intent on never doing something so stupid again." I couldn't have said it better than Jean did.
I understand why Trump decided to fire her but I don't agree with the way he did it especially since it had nothing to do with the task. What would Trump have done if Clint hadn't brought Khloe in? Would he have let her stay another week or would he have brought her in to fire her because of the DUI?
What especially made me angry is that both firings had NOTHING to do with the task. I would have been more satisfied with three or four firings if Trump really needed to get rid of Khloe and Tionne. After having fired Tionne for pulling a Bradford and telling Khloe she had to go home because of her DUI, Trump could have fired people BASED on their performance.
First in line: Clint Black, since he was a terrible project manager and his team could have won the task if he had listened and used them. I probably wouldn't have fired Melissa even if her team lost as well because she was a good project manager; however, I would have reminded her to listen to the task descriptions really well and try to match all the criteria mentioned by the client.

I agree that there was no reason to fire Khloe. He put up with Rodman's drinking for weeks and Rodman never took responsiblity for it. Plus he gave Miss USA (or Miss America, whatever) another chance after drinking and using coke.
I don't understand why they keep doing Celebrity seasons. They whole point when the show started was to win a job with Trump, to learn from the master. Master of what I won't say cuz I'm a lady.

There's usually one episode per season where Trump likes to go completely off track and remind everyone who's in charge. Which usually means doing something completely irrational just because he can.
Last night was that episode this season.

If Trump wanted to be so against drinking etc- why didn't he fire Dennis Rodman weeks ago and Clint was a total idiot! Melissa's team should have won because if the video was edited down and title changed it probably would have been fine....Trump is tooooo big for himself!

I thought him firing Khloe was so unfair - like it was said before, this happened so long ago that it seems impossible that Trump didn't know about it. What makes me angry is the fact that Mr. HIGH AND MIGHTY Clint Black has a child out of wedlock who he has refused to support or even recognize as his child (very old news). What would Trump think about that - or is that okay to a womanizer?

I am completely baffled over Trump's decisions in this Boardroom. First, he should have excused Brandi because she was only there because Trump made Melissa choose two people. Then, he should have reminded Tionne about the Bradford situation and allowed her to rescind her decision - which was solely made in support of the great job Melissa did, NOT as a cocky move by a player who didn't think it possible that he'd be let go. As Tionne said as she left the boardroom, she did not "volunteer to be executed" as Trump stated, she only volunteered at Melissa's request as a show of support.
Next, Natalie and Khloe should have been excused as they played zero role in the stink fest that Clint produced. Nobody was responsible for that disaster but him. What Trump did to Khloe instead was unforgivable - and I don't even like her so it's not about that. She was very forthright about her situation - even telling Trump about it directly. All I know is that she handled herself with far more class in the Boardroom than Trump did.
And what was with Trump REPEATEDLY commenting on how hot the actress in Clint's video was - even going so far as to ask Annie if she thought the actess was hot and then verbally imagining the hottie doing a catwalk up and down the boardroom. What is he - 14??? He must have gone somewhere directly after the Boardroom and done "a small load of dirty laundry by hand"!
In the end, it should have been between Clint and Melissa as the project managers with Melissa staying because her video was marginally (VERY marginally) better and her team respected her performance. Even Clint and Melissa felt that if someone on their team should go home, it should be them. Instead, he sent home two former project manager winners - Khloe, who earned 100k+ on her bridal dress task and Tionne - who Trump bestowed great praise upon for her performance in the Hotel task.
The only reason I can think of for Trump deciding to send two people home is that he's getting bored with some of the "celebrities" this season. That's honestly the only excuse I can come up with.

I totally agree it really pissed me off that he fired Khloe when Dennis Rodman has been drinking for weeks. She is doing what the court ordered. He had no right to fire her after he gave Miss America a second chance. He is not thinking clearly maybe his age is finally catching up to him.

I think it's pretty simple... He held onto Rodman for as long as he did because he was the name in the show. Now, he sacrificed these two rather than destroy what's left of his meager season. Whether we like it or not, on the men's side Clint Black is still the biggest name. He's not a stronger player than any other guy, besides maybe HWalker, but as Trump himself pointed out, 20M records sold. On the other hand, had he fired Melissa it would've been a disaster with Joan, the biggest name on the women's side. I think Melissa, deserved or not, will have to outlast Joan, because I can see Joan imploding otherwise. The point is, he used a fig leaf this week to try to keep the show going with it's names and the Joan/Melissa continuum for as long as possible.
What he did to Khloe was very low class. Yes, she made a mistake, a horrible and awful mistake that others do that results in tragedy. But what has she done since? From all I can see and have read she's done nothing but actually try to raise awareness and take responsibility for her actions. Trump made it seem like she was hiding it. What, like 3 episodes earlier they did a whole thing about the incident when she won her task and got to give a mondo check to the Shapiro's? I guess it's possible that Trump didn't know the circumstances until editing/voiceover work after all these things happened, but you'd think he'd at least consult with someone about how she was handling it... not that the bookers would've had her on if she were, say, Lindsay Lohan. I mean, if this were LL and Trump had his head in the sand for the last half decade of pop culture, I suppose he'd have a point. That's not who this was, nor were those her circumstances. I think she got a damn bum deal, and I'd be tempted to sue his dumbass for defamation and libel... suggesting she was trying to hide it.
Even if she didn't win, she'd make the point to reclaim her name... because I'm sure some stupid people will just take Trump on face value with that and devalue her.

I don't think Melissa will have to outlast Joan. As I watched last night I just have this feeling in my gut that we're going to wind up seeing Mother v. Daughter in the finale.
I hope I'm wrong...I really hope I'm wrong

Firing Khloe was really unfair. Clint Black was an idiot and deserved to go home. If Trump had a problem with her past DUI, he should of fired his producers for not doing a complete background check on her before they asked her to be on the show.
Last night Trump jumped the Shark. Again.

I couldn't agree more. This article, and particularly this paragraph, hit the nail on the head:

Trump is a total ass. No wonder he keeps going bankrupt. He needs to stick to the rules of his own game. Khloe and Tionne were fired for ridiculous reasons while Clint and Melissa were the obvious choices for canning. They both messed up their projects. ALL was right to pass on both video's. Apparently, the "bigger" stars are needed for ratings. I can't stand Khloe, but she didn't deserve to be embarassed publicly by that weasely hypocrite.

Ok, I remember Bradford Cohen.....so I was sitting there telling T'Boz not to do it.....apparently she couldn't here me. I knew it would come down to that if Athena was the loser!
Come on though, sending Khloe home over the whole DUI thing?? And he thinks its dispicable?
BUT hes got TONS of respect for Dennis Rodman, a convicted felonious burglar, 3 seperate DUIs, and pleading no contest to spousal abuse! WoW Donald! You really are my moral compass!
Whats worse, you kept Clint Black, who, after his teammates advised he was impossible to work witrh, didn't listen to his team, and you had this SAME info from your advisor Ivanka. You ignored that too

What a completely transparent attempt to keep ratings up by keeping the drama with Joan, her daughter, and Clint Black! Very, very disappointing.
there's no way the show didn't no about khloe's DUI ahead of time...what hipocrisy! an embarassment to the show.
T-Boz - you have my admiration and respect. Who cares what Trump says...loyality, friendship, respect, teamwork..these are "real world" values that build networks, careers, lives....
we seen the house that "wall street" values have built...trump should be ashamed of probagating them.

Something not much touched upon:
Here's the thing. I like women - like looking at lovely women, appreciate beauty as much as any hetero male does.
That said, I found Trump's constant commentary about women and their beauty to be downright creepy and borderline psychotic. He's an obvious letch. The stupid firings aside, his comments about women's bodies was not only degrading to the women there, but just... creepy old man.

OK...I didn't know Khloe was arrested for that. I mean a year ago it was probably on a low hit count blog someplace...and these guys aren't trying to work for obama...they are stars going on a game show...you really think they run background checks.
I totally can see how that might have been how he found out. I'm sure she would still be on the show if Clint didn't bring her back. He was probably waiting till she was up for consideration to do it.
There have been contestents in the 3 called back that didn't belong..and Trump said they shouldn't have been brought back....but contestants have then spoken up..said the wrong thing and got fired. Trump has even sometimes said "T is safe unless she does or says something stupid." So yes Tionne was putting herself in the line of fire...and as Trump said...thats a no no.
Now I thought Clint was more creepy then Trump. Trump sometimes over emphisizes things...bad and good...so I just see that as his charater.
BTW...not the target audience...40 M...but I thought both were funny. BUT I don't think I open either email. I rarely open that stuff. The Jesse James and Midgets title doesn't get opened.. I don't know what Clint called his...but I can't think of a title that fits the story I would open.

Unfortunately despite how despicable the firings were, they were somewhat predictable if only for the producers to keep the drama raging. The two fired were lower profile on the show and as such were the sacrificial lambs in the slaughter. I really hate DT and don't know why I watch.

I thought this show was great because it completely surprised me. Did not see either firing coming. I understand his rationale on T-Boz. I think he has been looking for an excuse to fire Khloe. She has been pretty much skating by for the last few weeks. Not to make excuses for Clint Black but he was just playing the game. He said earlier in the show that he was going to take Joan into the boardroom but he knew that would just give him a greater chance of getting fired. His attitude as project manager was very disappointing though. Never would have expected it from the way he was in prior tasks. I thought Melissa did an excellent job, she is a much better leader than follower.

Donald Trump acted like an ass Sunday night. His reason for firing Chloe was off the mark. Dennis Rodman was drunk every episode. Chloe was a class act all the way and walked out with her head high. Hang down your head Donald Trump.
