Dancing with the Stars - Week 4 Results(S08E07) – "I'm not scared of the double elimination or rattlesnakes" – Ty

I was happy aboutone thing last night that I forgot to mention: all the music fit. I dreaded that this week would have more obscene tango music (Star Wars Tango?) and six performances of the Lindy Hop set to Christina Aguilera's "Candyman," but the classics fit. Speaking of no bad music, the guest performers would have been given a harsh critique by Simon Cowell if they were on American Idol.

There was no dance-off, which is a shame because I'd love to have seen what Holly's performance would look like without the mistakes. The clip recap did reveal how badly Holly slipped off of the chair. Since it was close up last night, we only got to see her face go "oops." She basically fell off the chair. More analysis after the jump.

I'm going to continue to beat this like a dead horse, but Samantha Harris with no voice is great. Take a tip from Vanna White: look pretty in dresses and say "goodnight" at the end of the show. She really doesn't add to the show, and she lacks some of the charisma that Tom has.

We got the return of the encore, and the judges (obviously) choose Gilles and Cheryl. I assume that there will never be a point where the encore has to dance for their life. That would just suck to see the same dance twice, no matter how good it was. The encore did show how close Cheryl's face was to Gilles. I'm pretty sure I saw a lip touch. I'd be a very jealous wife.

Kevin Rudoff – "Let It Rock" – The singing was bad, but the dancing was good. I liked seeing the return of the leather outfits from Warren/Kym's Paso Doble from last season. Then I realized that the song "Let It Rock" was used last season. This is like Adele last week: abusing a really good song. I really appreciated Derek and Artem (So You Think You Can Dance alumni) dancing.

Louis van Amstel – Annie's Song – I'm going out on a limb and admit that I liked the chandelier props. The better couples should use interesting props like chandeliers and not parasols, hats, or flowers in the mouth. The whole dance is pretty in pink.

We finally get an explanation of the points. It's a percentage war. Somehow, the scores from the judges become percentages; the highest score gets the biggest percentage. A similar story occurs with the audience. After Holly's explanation confused me, I found it on Wikipedia a little closer to English.

Along with the points explanations we find out how the celebrities go out to gain more votes. Chuck meets fans. Gilles pretends to run his own website. Karina votes for the Woz. Shawn has a shirt that was made by a fan. That's it? A shirt? Clearly, she's a little more confident with her status.

The bottom three couples were Steve-O, Holly, and the Woz. After the totals were tabulated, the two couples going home were Holly & Dmitry, and Steve & Karina. Although I'm going to miss both (especially Holly's annoying laugh), both contestants probably wouldn't have won if that's any form of consolation. Steve-O should be worried next week. The dances for next week are the Paso Doble and the Viennese Waltz.
