So this Thursday at 9pm, the series finale of ER airs on NBC. I think that even former fans who drifted away from the show when Anthony Edwards was killed off, or when Noah Wyle left, or when they just didn't enjoy the show anymore because it had been on for too long will tune into the finale. You can't watch a show for so many years and then just forget all about the finale. The thing has been on since Bill Clinton's first term, so we gotta find out how it ends. The episode (like this season in general) will also have some familiar faces coming back to County General, and probably some in pictures and/or flashbacks (the episode will be preceded by a retrospective at 8pm). After the jump, a video sneak peek at the episode (and, yes, there are possible spoilers, so proceed with caution!)
Here are some other scenes from the finale, though if you watch too many of these things you'll most certainly be spoiled.

That's gotta be a real tearjerker.
An epochal show.

So... Was this the clinic that they were building in the name of their son? Or is this something completely new (and thus, a possible flash forward?).

I was wondering the same thing actually, Dorv. I think that it might be a "flash forward" of sorts too; I seem to recall, when Carter first came back a few episodes ago and was walking the streets of Chicago, that one of the places he stopped was the building named for his son. I don't know, maybe it is one and the same, but I think the building here is another building.
Plus, Carter seems to be walking around pretty well for someone who just had a kidney transplant, which also leads me further to believe that this is an episode set in the near future; perhaps the first hour (after the retrospective at 8, that is) is a continuation of the ER timeline from last week and the second is from sometime in the future?

Nope. But then, I was never a rabid fan and I liked the cast of some of the middle years better than Edwards, Clooney, et al. As I recall, Abby falling off the wagon again was the final absurd straw for me--there were 4 programs in the time slot I was interested in, and I could only watch and record 3. At the moment, there's actually nothing in the time slot that I watch, but I still won't tune in--I use it to catch up on shows recorded earlier in the week.

Sherry Stringfield is beautiful.
I'm glad they didn't kill off Carter with his kidney problems.

Have to agree with you there. I really didn't think it was her. Thought maybe they hired a new young looking Sherry Stringfield look-a-like doctor for the episode. She has found the fountain of youth. lol
From imdb she was born in 67, so she's 42, but still, from that clip she looks more upper 20's than lower 40's. :)
