Well, ain't that a kick in the head? The Real Wives of New York has one less wife on the roster, so it seems. Luann deLesseps has been dumped. The Countess deLesseps -- as she prefers to be called – and her rarely seen Count of a hubby, Alex, have apparently broken up. While I take no joy in anybody's marriage breaking up, this news is especially ironic in light of this season of Bravo's Real Wives of New York City. Not only has Luann been particularly overconfident about the right way to do things, but she was also prickly as a pear when another wife, Ramona Singer, observed that the Count was twice as old as Luann. The Countess went off like a firecracker when she heard that, and she was not forgiving of Ramona when she offered an apology.
Well, it seems Ramona was right. The Count is in his 60s, while Luann's still in her 30s, but that's not the real story here. Luann purports to be an expert on protocol. She has a book coming out called Class with the Countess. She spent part of one episode instructing teenagers how to eat luncheon like young ladies. On another, she offered Bethanny Frankel dating tips. She came off as the woman who knows everything about the right way to do and act and be.
So, you would think that the dissolution of her marriage would be done quietly and tastefully. Instead, the New York Post – and take that with a grain of salt – reports that Luann suspected Alex was seeing another woman and called him to talk about it. He ducked her calls and sent her an email to confirm that he wasn't coming home to New York from Geneva. That's got to sting.
This is a couple that have been married 16 years and have two children, so the least Count deLesseps could have done is call his spouse and break it to her gently.
The show has already wrapped for the season, so none of this will be shown on Bravo, although I can imagine that they might bring up the subject in the reunion show. Yes, they always have a reunion show.

Karen took the words right out of my mouth, the 'countess' hasn't seen the 30s for about 10 years or so. So to pile on, her husband is old and looks old but is still shagging young chicks? What a jerk. Despite the fact that I don't like her much - not sure any of them are likeable - I feel badly for her nonetheless.

I agree, wholeheartedly. I do not find her likable in the least, but I certainly wouldn't wish the pain infidelity brings on her, either.
She'll be embarrassed and emotionally distraught for a time, but financially she'll be just fine.

Well I only have one comment here - As Penny would say "Dead whore on TV, live one in real life."
Couldn't happen to a nicer whore... she's a real bitch.

It was aristocracy like the Countess who led to the storming of the Bastille, she'd have been guillotined in the 1700's for some of the things she's said. I'd rather be the happy rabble than the miserable upper class. Oh, and yeah, LuAnn, money DOES NOT buy class.

HAHA The countess got knocked off her high horse!! Yea!! She will have to live like the rest of us peasants. Hope hubby had an iron clad pre nup and the stuck up pretentious, arrogant, snob will have to get a job as a domestic. Karma does have a way of biting one in the arse. Afterall, she is his fourth wife. She is nowhere close to her thirties, fifties yes. thirties no way.

Here’s a bit of interesting info: the Count’s Ethiopian lady just so happens to be none other than Princess Kemeria Abajobir Abajifar, the granddaughter of King Abajobir Abajifar, the last King of Jimma, Ethiopia. Seems the Count traded up! His new play thing is not only much younger, more exotic and lovelier than LuAnn, but happens to be bona fide royalty in her own right.
I pity the children, Victoria and Noel, very much.
