One of my favorite things that Reno 911! does is to weave in guest stars with little or no fanfare, and to just let them mix it up with the cast. I smile every time I see Patton Oswalt as a role-playing geek running, in full chainmail, from Dangle & Co. Or Paul Rudd as a Lamaze coach. Or Cheryl Hines as trailer trash (there has been a lot of trailer trash). It's never a big deal, it's never announced to promote the show. It's just people who are good at what they do goofing off and having a lot of fun, which is what the rest of the cast is doing anyway.
Looks like the new season, which premieres Wednesday at 10:30PM, will continue that tradition. Here's a bit with Jonah Hill, uncensored.

There are also two new cast members this season - Ian Roberts from the Upright Citizens Brigade troupe and Joe Lo Truglio from The State. If you've seen Roberts' film Martin & Orloff, you know the kind of manic, oddball energy he can bring. (With some extra bulk and the mustache, it may also be hard for you to recognize Roberts, even if you're a fan). Lo Truglio already has chemistry with his former State cast members, and he's not new to Reno 911!, either (he was the tattoo shop owner in Reno 911!: Miami). I'll miss Carlos Alazraqui and Wendi McLendon-Covey, but I'm looking forward to Roberts and Lo Truglio.

what? we're losing Garcia? Garcia was my favorite. The sheer anger and hatred he harbored always made the interactions he had with the other funnier. ie - "trudy is a 3 bagger, a bag for you, a bag for her and a bag for anyone god forbid, who might be watching" and "stick time, garcia-style"

So excited for Ian Roberts, I've been waiting for him to have a prominent tv role in something ever since the brilliant UCB Comedy Central went off the air in 2000. Nobody plays pissed off authority figures like quite like him.
And Joe LoTruglio (always one of the more underrated members of The State, glad we've been seeing more of him in recent years) too, holy shit! This new season is gonna be amazing!

I can't find anything anywhere about where Garcia and Mary Birdsong went and/or why. Does anyone know more about their departure?

Wendy has gone off to do [B] movies (see her Myspace page). Mary Birdsong is doing Broadway, a new HBO series, and cutting a CD with her own band (see her website).
The first episode with the new cast didn't capture me either, the chemistry is all wrong. Fine, it's jumped the shark anyway, maybe "Krod Mandoon" will replace it on my dvr.

These new guys are lame. I find absolutely no humor in them at all, I'm really not sure if I'll even watch Reno anymore. Trudy might make me stay, otherwise lame. Clemmy and Garcia had such defined characters.

I am just glad to see Terry Bernadino (Nick Swardson) is still on the show.
"Mexican werewolves are coming up from Mexico and selling crack!"
Comedy Central should have a spin off show devoted to the Adventures of Terry Bernadino.

I bet they come back in some way. I say they show up again as part of some secret federal taskforce. They faked their deaths and when they come back it will be very dangle centric episode. "What?? Your not dead!!"

I am very upset that the got rid of Garcia, and Clemmy. Clemmy was my absolute favorite character. So I probably won't watch the new seasons. I saw one of them and the only funny ones were Trudy, Dangle, and the other old cast but the new guys weren't very funny at all. If they never got rid of the other guys, and still added the new guys, I would definantly still watch it but since they left, its not really fun to watch when your favorite character isn't there.
