The following promotional video contains a few scene snippets of the upcoming Red Dwarf special/conclusion (called Back to Earth) and is mostly interviews, but simply seeing the conversation between Kryten and Rimmer sets my heart all pitter-pattery.I wasn't a big fan of Season 8 of Red Dwarf (or the previous few seasons before that, but mostly Season 8) which changed the whole premise and I'm hoping this television special will wrap up the series in a way that is more personally satisfying.
There are spoilers and video after the jump, so if you're not interested in either I recommend to stop reading now.
Apparently this finale took a page from several of its previous episodes (as well as Star Trek IV) and brought our lost crew back to 21st century Earth. Hilarity will no doubt ensue. The good news is that the crew looks mostly the same from the last series (save for Chris Barrie, who has aged somewhat. If his character were still a hologram, that would require some explanation).

It's too bad the big screen movie never came to be. I'm glad they got a chance to wrap it all up though. When will we get to see it in the states. I too enjoyed the earlier seasons more, especially the appearance of a young Craig Ferguson in an episode of season one.
