Actually, it's not every season of every show that Norman Lear produced and/or created. That would probably take two UPS trucks to deliver and a spare bedroom to store. But this sounds like an interesting collection nonetheless.On June 9, Sony will release The Norman Lear Collection, a 19-disc set that will include the first seasons of the shows that Norman Lear did over the years, including All in the Family, Sanford and Son, The Jeffersons, Maude, One Day At A Time, Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, and Good Times. The set will include lots of bonus material, including new interviews with people like Rob Reiner and Jimmie Walker, along with the two unseen pilots for All in the Family, Those Were The Days and And Justice For All (in the original pilot, the Bunkers' last name was actually Justice).
It's an interesting idea for a set. Arguably, the first season of shows aren't even the best ones, but I guess this is the most logical way to do the set, instead of having the first season of one show, the fourth season of another show, and the second season of another show. They probably would also not be unhappy if seeing the first season of these shows made you want to go out and buy the other season sets too.

can't be. This was in the days when a season was 23 or 25 episodes, so I'm guessing there would be 4 1 hour episodes per disk, or 8 30 minute episodes. You could fit a whole season on 4 or 5 dvds, then have the bonus stuff on separate dvds.

Still though, I'd like it. Good stuff. And certainly TV and political history at its finest. You can probably learn a lot about the time many of us were born during by watching those particular shows.

Sony entertainment really does'nt know how to market or give fans what they really want.To release 1st seasons we already have is really pointless.If they were smart they should release seasons not on dvd yet and that would make buyers who already have seasons 1 to buy this and people who dont they would want to buy the already releases as well.I know alot of people are not buying this for that fact that we already own these seasons
