(S03E15) "His video game made a fortune and he invested all of it in a company that dismantles bank signs. They're doing very well." - Jack, about TracyI have to really disagree with Jack and Cerie: Liz Lemon is a bubble person.
Sure, Cerie is hot, but Jack himself admits that he hasn't been great looking since he was 25 and still had really blue eyes. They think Liz is merely nice and "pleasant looking"? That's crazy talk. Tina Fey is a bubble person.
That's a line I never thought I'd actually type, but she is. She really is. Liz should get what she wants a lot more than she does.
And so ends the three episode guest stint from Jon Hamm. But was Liz fair to him? It seemed that he was getting along fine in life and she liked him a lot but she decides that she can't live with someone like that, so she calls it off. I guess freaking out at the tennis court didn't help things. As someone who has smashed a racket or two on the court, I can relate. And as someone who also lives in a bubble and gets out of parking tickets because of his looks, I understand why he didn't want to change. There's always the chance he could come back at some point, of course. Maybe Drew will learn how to do the Heimlich and ride a motorcycle and cook and come back and surprise Liz.
This was another good episode that focused on the behind the scenes goings-on at NBC/TGS. I like seeing Jack trying to manipulate Ken into getting Tracy back into the show (loved when Jack gave us an update on what happened with the porn video game that Tracy invented) and Jenna talking about her hair the entire episode. I think they might have to start putting Meredith Vieira in the opening credits at some point.
Speaking of openings, I love how this show takes a longtime TV cliche and twists it so you can never look at it the same away, and in this episode they did it twice in the span of a minute. At the start of the show, when it looked like Jack and Liz were going to have flashbacks about all of the wacky things Tracy has done in the past three seasons, and then again when Calvin Klein doesn't even leave a business card or phone number even though he tells Drew he wants him to be his next underwear model. Great stuff.

Tina Fey is a bubble person, but only because of her celebrity. I'd turn to a babbling idiot in her presence and agree with whatever she said. Cerie, too, without celebrity, just out of her otherworldly hotness. But Liz? She's totally attractive, sure, but in a non-intimidating way. We'd get into friendly arguments about Star Wars, at least that's how it goes in my fantasy. Which is not how you are with a bubble person.
(Incidentally, this exact same phenomenon was explored a bunch in Andy Richter Controls the Universe, which is weird since Better Off Ted (from the same creator), also covered a lot of ARCTU ground with the giant ridiculous corporation that mistreats their employees)

The best line of the night was Jenna saying she was donating her hair to "a wonderful charity called Merkins of Hope."
I'm a bit surprised they let them get away with saying that!

Ellie,
I agree with you about the "Merkins of Hope" line. I almost spit my dinner out laughing so hard, esp. Meredith's reaction...
If you guys don't know what a merkin is i suggest you google it to understand how funny this was (I don't want to give it away here)...Easily the BEST most UNEXPECTED line of the night. I did figure that it may fly over the head of most people though.

Yes it was fart...which was more funny because it was most ridiculous.
And I didn't know that merkins existed, let alone that there was a word for it. Awesome

The line on the tennis court was actually ""This racket is a fart..." I know because I laughed at that and had to rewind it and put on the closed captions just to make sure that was what I heard.

My favorite part of the show is the opportunity the use to bring back things from earlier seasons. Last night, after Jack stated the obvious to Tracy and made him quit and Dot Com stood up and told Jack about Tracy's learning style and Jack looked at him and said 'So help me god, Dot Com...' like he was really mad. It was a throw back reference to the episode where Jack tried to get Tracy to be the spokesperson for the Republican Party and he told Dot Com that his 'need to be the smartest person in the room is discomforting.'
I thought that was the best part of the night.
They missed a really obvious one in the beginning of this season when Tracy and his wife begin making out in Jack's office and Jack is backing out the door and says something like 'Oh my god!' What he should have said right there was 'You guys START with that?!', which would have been a throwback to the Season 2 episode where Liz finally goes to kick his wife out and Tracy stands up to her and they start getting it on in his dressing room.
Maybe I'm over thinking all of this?

Did anyone else laugh at Jenna Jameson reference "Club Jenna" or am I reading too much into that quote?

Who besides me thinks that Jason Bateman should be cast as a potential love interest for Liz?
Merkins of Hope was hilarious, as was the Dot.com-Jack feud continuing. Glad that this season keeps getting better!

For me, the best joke of the night was the "Who Wore It Better" between Jenna(16%) and Miss Piggy(84%).

Tracy Jr was the best.
Why? Lets see...
Wore a suit to school,
His dad packed Mayo & Cigarettes for lunch,
Called Jack - 'Donaghy' as in 'You gotto fix this Donaghy',
AND called Jack the Dumbest Cracker in all of New York!!
~Awesome~

So how come Al Sharpton isn't jumping up and down with the racist comment "I didn't come here to hear more excuses. I came here to see the dumbest cracker in New York!" .. or is racism only a one way street???

RE: Tina & Liz as bubble people.
You must be born with the bubble. Liz was way to dorky as a kid for it to form. Her awkward teenage years made her a bit of a spazz, which prevents the bubble from forming despite her current hotness. As for Tina, I'll let the reader judge:
