The silver fox has been popping up all over the continental US this week for his CNN show, AC360. Two nights ago Anderson hung out with some do-gooders in New Orleans, profiling the efforts of volunteer groups rebuilding Katrina homes. Last night, he made an appearance in Warren, Michigan, right out side Detroit to talk to hard hit auto workers. Now, I enjoy it when they take him out of the studio and dump him among the commoners, since that's when his real talent of connecting with people comes through. But, as a viewer who might actually be interested in the news, it's getting hard to hear him over the whoops and hollers of his live audiences. It really hit a sour note last night while he was reporting on the death of Natasha Richardson.
He gave the somber news of her passing, a person whom he called a "dear friend", in front of a crowded, and at times rowdy, bar. There are times when this live format works for him, but lately, with the grim stories we're hearing more of, it just seems very out of place. Which inappropriate place do you think he'll pop in tonight?

So should AC not give sad news when he's in a "rowdy" place? Of course not.
Should he never go to a bar or among cheering Americans, or try to go only when the day's forecast is for good news only??? How do you do that?
The only answer to your question is that he should stay in his studio all the time, 365 days a year.
Which proves how stupid that post was. Seriously.

He'll be at Hofstra on Long Island, NY in front of Hofstra Hall. They e-mailed alum about it this morning. That wasn't really too hard to figure out....
