One of television's longest and hardest working actors is in the hospital.

Stage, screen and television actor Stacy Keach suffered a stroke and has been admitted to a Los Angeles hospital for observation.

Fortunately, it doesn't appear to be life threatening or extremely serious. His reps characterized the stroke as "very mild" and said it has not impaired or affected his speech "whatsoever." That's good news since he's still working on the stage and screen.

Keach is definitely one of television's least appreciated "that guys." He has more screen time and acting credits than Robert Evans has had sexual encounters.

Those parts aren't just bit characters or throw away guest appearances. They are a memorable and eclectic mix of serious dramatic and laugh-out-loud hilarious roles. He gave a face and a voice to Mickey Spillane's hard-boiled detective Mike Hammer. He put an interesting spin on the prison warden character as "The Pope" on Prison Break. He even left his mark on voiceover narration.

Personally, he'll always be Titus' dad on Titus. His acting and delivery made Ken Titus a living and breathing person. He was so good that I'm convinced if I ever met Keach and dared to fight him, he could knock out my pasty white ass and make me laugh before I hit the ground.
