CBS has given renewals to both The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men. Anybody tracking the ratings of either show shouldn't be surprised at this news. In fact, Two and a Half Men was picked up for three more years and The Big Bang Theory for two. I guess CBS' Monday nights are taken care of for the next couple of years. While I haven't been following Two and a Half Men (I don't think I'm the target demographic), I do catch an episode of The Big Bang Theory time to time and get a good chuckle out of it. A recent favorite of the show involved the guest appearance of the delicious and shiny Summer Glau as herself (video follows after the jump).
If The Big Bang Theory continues with situations such as the following, I may have to watch it with greater loyalty in the future.

And we're still waiting for the inevitable renewal of HIMYM.

I'm very glad they gave "Big Bang Theory" such a vote of confidence. It's a great show--all the Chuck Lorre humor but not nearly as sleazy as "Two and a Half Men" (which I also like, but I feel kind of guilty about). Plus, "2 1/2" has just about run out of ideas--Alan would not still be living in his brother's guest room if it wasn't sitcom world. On "BBT" we're still getting to know the guys and their universe. I only hope they avoid turning it into "The Sheldon Show". I like Sheldon, but I think they're in danger of letting him completely dominate the series. Still, next to "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report", nothing makes me laugh out loud as often as "BBT". Also, those 2 are the only 2 shows on CBS that I watch, except for "60 Minutes" now and then. I have no interest in repetitive crime dramas.

Sorry about that, folks. We try to be cognizant of old posts, but sometimes a dupe slips through. That's my fault.

Summer Glau as herself? Thanks for posting the clip. I don't watch that Terminator show because I couldn't get into it but I would like to tune in just to see her, and this way I get to see her a little less robotic and a little more herself.

Folks, I checked TV Squad for the past week's worth of articles to see if anybody reported on this. When it was posted on Yahoo yesterday, it was new. Technically, it WAS new as the previous article was an unconfirmed commitment and this one represents official confirmation by CBS. However, I should have linked back to the first article and will try to be more careful about such things in the future.
