To put it bluntly, it seems no one cares about The Sarah Connor Chronicles anymore, and people continue to not care about the new show Dollhouse. The TV Addict has the ratings for last night's show, and both of these FOX action dramas just don't seem to have a future. In the 8pm hour, Ghost Whisperer, Wife Swap, and Howie Do It all beat The Sarah Connor Chronicles. The FOX show did beat Everybody Hates Chris by a wide margin, if that's any consolation (answer: it's not). In the 9pm hour, Flashpoint, Supernanny, and Friday Night Lights all came in ahead of Joss Whedon's Dollhouse. FOX didn't have a show at 10pm, but if it did, it would have been beaten by Numb3rs, 20/20, and several local cable access shows.
Obviously the only way to save these shows is to turn them into reality shows. Have 8 hot people live in a house and compete to see who can be the newest cast member on The Sarah Connor Chronicles, or make Dollhouse a wacky hidden camera prank show. Or maybe the other way around. 8 people have to live in a dollhouse for a month.

I'll say it again said...
I'll say it again, the people who watch these shows aren't home on friday nights. They are out at bars or at the movies, put these shows on nights that they are more likely to be home, like Wednesday( CBS is lousy on Wed nights)or tuesday nights. These numbers don't surprise me one bit.

Different spin... once you add DVR numbers, both shows will likely be #2 in the demo, with TSSC #2 overall.

Both shows were up in the ratings from last week. The Hollywood Reporter reports "For the first time, both shows went up.
"Terminator" (3.5 million viewers, 1.2 preliminary adults 18-49 rating and 4 share) went up 20% for last night's "Today is the Day Part 1" (which at these viewing levels translates to a couple tenths in the adult demo). "Dollhouse" (4.3 million, 1.6/5) went up one tenth -- 7%.

I would agree Ryan, that most of the viewers are DVR'ing the show and the numbers will reflect it in the next week.

CBS isn't lousy on Wednesday nights, as it has two great comedies. Plus Wednesday isn't a good night because of the competition of Lost.
T:SCC is worth watching, but I continue to not care about Dollhouse after watching the first two episodes. Sure it may be getting better, but better does not equal good.

Dollhouse is stupid, pointless, and the premise makes absolutely no sense at all. But TSCC is awesome, and I watch it every week. But a lot of the time, I watch it later on the DVR. It's been proven (and previous posts on this thread already reflect this fact) that when you take into account those who record it and watch it later on their DVRs, TSCC does quite well.
If the networks are going to cancel friday night shows because people prefer to record them and not watch them live, then they're morons... and they may as well just have the network 'go black' during friday nights.
Or just show movies friday nights and put all original programming on Mon through Thurs & Sunday nights. Most people do not watch TV on Friday and Saturday nights - they are out getting drunk at bars. But that doesn't mean they don't record the shows and watch them later. If that means commercials have to be sold at a discount due to the ability of DVR watchers to fast forward past the commercials, then just charge more for commercials during TV shows on other days to make up the difference in price.
Please don't cancel TSCC. I love the show, like many others, but I don't always watch it live. I usually watch it later that night or the next day.
But go ahead and cancel the fuck out of Dollhouse... it's so stupid a premise that if I taught a second grade sci-fi writing class and one of the kids turned it in as an idea, I'd give the kid an F.

I think the way networks or the industry works how people watch TV is silly and antiquated, I can't believe the millions of people who live in this country can be determined by a few hundred people on survey! I believe if given a chance, if there is some way for video on demand that can be paid for by watching commercials or you paid for it with out commercials by broadcast over Air, Cable, Satellite and Internet
I'm sure every show or movie would find a viewer somewhere willing to watch it. Now the way it a few people on Nielson or Arbitron now determines what people watch. People pay for Satellite, Cable, Internet, Tivo, Netflix, Amazon and iTunes Video. I can't believe there is no way to measure all these ways to watch all these video sources so the Networks and Studios can get paid and we the viewing public can what we want, when we want!!!!!

We don't have OTA or cable TV (suspended our DTV account until football). We watch a few shows via Hulu:
30 Rock
Dollhouse
Terminator
My wife watches more via Hulu but that's all I really turn on right now.
I think both hour long shows are bit more complex and interesting than anything else on TV right now. Most TV, sadly, is boring as snot, there's no character growth, no overriding story and it all seems like police procedurals or bland soap operas.
Sure we've got Dexter on Showtime and Curb on HBO but beyond those two...

I really hope that by some miracle more people start watching TSCC. I was watching the first season on dvd last night and thinking about how much I love the characters and the moral questions the show poses. I continue to watch it every week. Once again, Fox has a great show and they don't know what to do with it.

I find it hard to believe that the cable companies can't track what channels your decoder box/cable cards are tuning in to. whether you have your tv turned on or not is irrelevant

it's a shame, really.
TSCC is simply put the best show currently on air, despite the rather awkward name.

Hulu automatically ranks shows based on viewership. You'd think someone other we than viewers might notice that and see that on Saturday (when TSCC is posted) it's one of the most popular shows out of 608. But no. Fox is filled with freaking morons who cancel good shows, because they hate SF. Why they put it on in the first place is beyond me.

I love TSCC but I never watch it live because I work nights so it's impossible. Even if I didn't work I still wouldn't be home on a FRI or SAT..Cmon! I DVR this show and BSG. I don't have to worry about when the stupid network messes with the time slot cuz the DVR is programmed to catch it whenever it's on. I usually watch it middle of the night when I get home any where from a day to week later. And oh yeah you better believe I FF those dumb commercials. I would actually PAY from 99cents to upto $1.99 to get future episodes of this show. I think given with the internet the network should propose this to the viewers. They can put out a roll-call of viewers and say OK how many want another season of TSCC? Then the viewers PRE-PAY for the season. if the network collects enough money then they go ahead and make the season..if not then the season gets canceled and all get our money back. 3.5 mil viewers times $1.99 is about 7 million per episode. Is Fox saying they can't make 1 episode for 7 mil??? Make that ishh PPV via your set top box and only the hard core fans can watch it. The rest of the morons can watch reality TV. And NO commercials other than movie releases - I don't need a new car and I don't need Viagra and I am not looking to clean my house if I am sitting watching TV. Put that isshh on during Martha Thugwart or HGTV.
