Uh oh... T.O. has a reality show

Terrell Owens at a Buffalo Bills press conferenceOne of the biggest names and egos in the National Football League will try to cram his big life (and mouth) into 30 to 60 minutes of weekly programming for VH1.

Terrell Owens, the Buffalo Bills' new star receiver, will star in a new reality show called Playing the Field.

The show will give one of the league's most vocal stars a chance to show his fans and haters what life is like on and off the field, and could start with his firing from the Dallas Cowboys.

Am I the only person who thinks this is both the most brilliant and worst idea ever? T.O. is known for grabbing the first mic that comes into his field of view when he has something he wants to say, and having a camera on him 24 hours a day could make for some interesting drama and a peek behind the scenes of a star who is usually defined and characterized by his sound bites.

At the same time, welding a camera to T.O.'s forehead also feels like VH1 is giving a pyromaniac a flamethrower. Depending on how much control he has over the final product, the show could be just a giant PR outlet to spin his ongoing sagas and dramas that have followed him since he started with the Philadelphia Eagles. And if anyone thinks that the cameras will be completely objective when it comes to presenting T.O.'s tales, then please tell them to contact me because I have some magic beans they might be interested in buying.

Maybe all of this is Drew Rosenhaus' way of keeping his client in check. If a camera crew followed my every move, I would run every word I say through a mental filter thick enough to stop an oncoming semi.
