How will Smallville reverse this one?

smallville infamous wellingA few new clips from this week's episode of Smallville have surfaced. Judging from the clips and The CW's promo for the episode, it looks like Clark Kent is about to do something he's never done before. No, he's not gonna fly, but this episode looks like it might be a pretty big deal.

Clark will finally reveal his secret to the world in "Infamous," Thursday's episode of Smallville. The clips feature Clark using his powers in public and talking to fans on the street. According to the official episode description, Clark decides to go public with his powers after his secret is threatened by Linda Lake (guest star Tori Spelling). Apparently Lois will publish a story about Clark's powers, revealing the truth behind the "Red-Blue Blur."

Unless the producers of Smallville are planning to diverge from the Superman mythos in a really huge way this time, I'm sure that the events of this week's ep will be reversed. At the end of this ep, or maybe in the next ep, Clark will have a change of heart and, magically, no one will remember that he's a superman. He'll go back in time to change the past, use the fortress to wipe people's minds, or some such nonsense. It might even be some kind of bizzaro dream/fantasy/alternate reality episode.

I'm not a big fan of spoilers, so I haven't looked around to find out what "the deal" is with this ep, but what do you think, Smallville fans. Will Clark's secret be out or good, or will someone press the "Reset" button before things get too out of control? Also, if the plan is to press the "Reset" button, how do you think they'll do it? I'm almost willing to bet that Clark will somehow use his Legion ring to travel back in time to fix the problem. Guess we'll find out on Thursday.
