Whenever I've visited Vegas in the past decade I always made the time to stop into the Hilton and at least look around the Trek gift shop. Most likely, the new movie will be incorporated into this display, which is fine by me. The new Enterprise NCC-1701 looks like it was designed by Apple (very sleek) and would likely look good hanging in large size in the middle of the exhibit.
Star Trek: The Experience to remain open

You know, to this day, that's the only gift shop I've ever actually enjoyed shopping.
The "Museum" was a letdown though.

Hate to be pedantic, but it's not "remaining" open as it has been closed since last year.
The new version won't even be close to the old -- the main attraction of the original was a unique simulator ride and recreation of the Enterprise sets. The reincarnation will only be "Quark's Bar" and a museum of props (which evidently won't even fully open until 2010).
So, gosh... $20 to get into a space-themed bar? Yeah. There's something to crow about.

Fair points, but the alternative is that there would be no Star Trek themed place in Vegas at all. So this is a good sign that some one believes that this can be profitable and hopefully will do a good job at it.

Yeah, the 'remain' open caught me too, because I knew it closed. It's more like 're-open' but in another location. I can't believe they're going to setup the attraction downtown, which I'm sorry to say, I've never visited nor felt compelled to ever visit. It was bad enough that it was behind the strip, but at least it was accessible by rail.
Despite liking Star Trek, and visiting Vegas several times every year, unless it's on the strip or pretty darn close, I'll probably never visit the new attraction.

I guess now the Hilton is gonna have to finally take down all the enormous "Star Trek: The Experience" signage, eh? Seems like they didn't want the attraction, but are still happy to sucker people into a casino with weird futuristic walls.

I remember reading about this a few weeks ago in the LV newspaper while I was there. For those who haven't tried one I highly recommend getting a Warp Core Breach to share with friends while at Quark's.

I was so upset to find out that the Star Trek The Experience Exhibit had been closed as I thought it was one of the best attractions to see in Vegas. The simulations were incredible and so real. This Exhibit took you to a place that was created in the mind of the brilliant visionary, Gene Roddenberry, and that was very unique and exciting. Sad that people are forgetting how incredible his vision was!
