Are Lost and 24 really the two best shows on TV right now? (A twenty second pause while you're thinking about that.)Welcome back! I would definitely put Lost in the "best" category. I don't know if it's the best, but it's certainly in the top 5. I can't speak for 24 because I haven't seen that much of it (though I take fans' word for it). But USA Today's Robert Bianco says that Lost and 24 are the two best shows on TV.
Um, Mad Men, anyone?
Of course, we can debate here all day long about what's "best" and what's "favorite." I'm sure we can all agree that all three of these shows are good and it probably doesn't matter which is better than the other. I just find it a little interesting that Lost and 24 are mentioned as being the best without even mentioning AMC's Mad Men. Or 30 Rock for that matter. He doesn't say that Lost and 24 are the best dramas, he says best show period.

No kidding - of course it's BSG! Lost is a pretty close second this season a solid #2 for me. Fringe is turning out pretty good as well as Dollhouse but both are new and finding their legs. 24 has sucked since Logan was ousted in season 5.

I agree with you 100%.
You have perfect taste in TV.
As you can see, Dexter definitely belongs on that list.
And I have never understood the hoopla over 24, I think it's cheesy, cliche, far-fetched and the direction gives me headaches.

Posts like this spawn plenty of arguments, child like bickering, insults, and snobbery so I guess it'll be popular. However, I think this is almost an easy out for an article.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and everyone is right. Every show mentioned here is the best show on TV to someone. What a wash-out of an argument.

This is one of those open-ended questions designed to elicit lots of reader comment so that they can gauge or measure the site's following. They used to do it with those weekly give-aways but in lean times they do it with these types of fish-bait questions. But you, me, and a few others are on to their game...

24? You're kidding right? No way is it even in the top ten (anymore). BSG is by far the best show on TV, with LOST a very close second. I'm a huge 24 fan and this season is just like the last 4.....crap. But BSG has the best story, writing, and acting and it's a damn shame it's coming to an end. 24 has fallen right behind John & Kate + 8. Too bad tho, cause Jack is awesome.

Lost is a great show too. And this season for the most part has been very well written. But it's not fair that a show like Lost can just bring up a million questions, not answer them and have everyone loving it so much because of it. Where as 24 actually has to address the plotlines right away AND do it in it's real time format BASED IN REALITY.
24 has gone 7 seasons and this season is probably the best yet. It is SO much harder for the writers to write 24 then it is for Lost. Anything goes with Lost, and it's not fair people are mocking 24 and praising lost because of the stupid "mysteriousness" of it.
