I have mixed feelings about CBS' The Big Bang Theory. Being a geek, it feels a little strange watching a sitcom that wants to cater to you and make fun of you at the same time. I find myself wincing at the lazy geek caricatures on display every time I watch, but for every wince, there's always a laugh. The show is funny, and I like that none of the plots ever really seem to add up to much. It's all about the jokes, and it reminds me of Seinfeld in that way.Now I have another reason to watch. Summer Glau, Cameron from Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, will guest star in an upcoming episode of TBBT. Glau won't be playing a robot – that would be too cool – she'll be playing herself. From what I can decipher from other Interweb rumblings, the episode will feature Sheldon, Leonard and crew somehow rerouting Glau's train trip to San Francisco in order to meet her. (Reminds me of Raj and Wolowitz's plan to find the Next Top Model house from last night's ep.) The episode airs March 9.
This episode can't come soon enough for me. The Big Bang Theory is getting its best ratings ever, and hopefully this ep will help boost the The Sarah Connor Chronicles' ratings that week. Lord knows TSCC needs help attracting viewers.
Still, I'm not sure if the BBT nerds will be able to convince their audience to tune into FOX on Friday night. I think it depends on two things: How many TSCC references they can cram into the episode, and what Summer Glau will be wearing. Hopefully it'll be something leather.

please tell me that they call her River and have just as many firefly/serenity jokes. River is so much better than Cameron.

River was awesome, Cameron is one of the very few good things about TSCC, the dialogue is 99% clichés, the stories, are weak and predictable and I don`t know what's worst, the actress playing Sarah Connor or the pseudobaddie, "I only speak clichés" Sarah Connor, the worst part is that the show is dumb as a door and it tries to be some kind of philosophical art work.
I pretty much watch it mostly because I`m a sadistic fella and for Summer Glau, the irony is that in most forums you see people trashing her character(not her).
The Big Bang Theory is a pretty awesome show, it does remind me a little about the good sitcoms in the 90's, and as a geek, I see them exaggerating quite a bit -- remember the nintendo joystick belt?? -- but at the same time being very faithful to some details.
This show just kept getting better and better, at the beginning, it was a tad formulaic and straight in a sitcom format, but still a good show, now it's a very good show and the dialogue is intelligent, witty and somewhat genuine most of the time.

I'm a fan of The Big Bang Theory, but I have no intention of ever watching The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

That's too bad, because it's a great show that cares about the material. It dovetails really well with T1 and T2, and is respectful of the source while moving a new timeline forward.
Seriously, it's turned into a really, really good show, Shirley Manson notwithstanding.

I hate TBBT but love T:SCC. What do I do??? No, I'll put up with them just to watch Summer Glau do her thing - and I hope there are at least a few River Tam references...

Not a big fan of big bang (hey that rhymes) but I'll tune in for Summer Glau...It'll be a nice change of pace to see her do comedy (although Cameron is really funny at times)
