Terminator producer talks time travel, fans, character deaths - VIDEO

terminator richard t jonesNo clips or spoilers this week. The second Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles video podcast features a candid 13-minute interview with executive producer Josh Friedman. He starts the interview by saying "I will never do another television show that has to do with time travel." At the end of the interview, he says season two might conclude with "one more good character death." Place your bets now, folks. My money's on Riley.

Friedman also talks about fan comments (they want John to grow up already), serialization vs. stand-alone episodes, and his relationship with the cast. I especially enjoyed his comments about the show's time travel issues and about actor Richard T. Jones, who plays James Ellison on the show.

Friedman says Jones' Christian faith has changed the show and Ellison's character arc dramatically. I think making Ellison a man of faith was a great move. It's made the character and the show richer, more complex, and even more believable for me. It seems only natural that someone would look to his or her faith for strength and guidance when faced with the extraordinary things Ellison has seen.

Check out the interview below. You can watch a new Terminator video podcast on Fox's Terminator blog every week leading up to the Feb. 13 mid-season premiere.
