The following item is for those of you parents out there with young children. Those of you who watch soft-core porn in the morning can disregard this post.
Did any of you notice something weird with the Playhouse Disney schedule this morning? Starting at 6 a.m. EST you get JoJo's Circus, Johnny and the Sprites and The Wiggles, and those mini-episodes that the network imports from Canada. That wasn't the case this morning. Instead we got Phineas and Ferb, Imagination Movers and Handy Manny. In addition, Ooh and Ahh, and all of the labels that it was Playhouse Disney were gone as well. By 8:00 a.m. things looked to have been corrected as Little Einsteins aired at its normal time.
Now, to normal people this wouldn't be an issue. On the other hand, it matters greatly to the kids who set their clocks by these Playhouse Disney shows and notice when things are different. Even my 8-year-old noticed the changes and actually mentioned the network seemed to be running their schedule backwards. So, Disney Channel executives, what happened this morning? My kids would like to know.
UPDATE: :Thanks to one of our readers we've found out that Disney has pushed their Playhouse Disney schedule back to 8:00 a.m. There's a good chance they'll lose some viewers to this.

Are you sure it wasn't Nick. They mess with the schd SO MUCH it's pathetic. When school it out the put toddler shows on Nick, even though Noggin is PLAYING the same damn shows.
I can take the Nick shows, not the Noggin crap. That I say as a parent.

I wonder if it's related to next month's transformation of Toon Disney into Disney XD?

This article claims that Disney XD will be the boy oriented alternative to the girl-focused Disney Channel.
If that's true Disney's focus groups dropped the ball. Adding a new "girl" tool to Handy Manny has not convinced my 4 year old to watch it instead of Bunnytown reruns on TIVO.

I was blown away too - as I Tivo everything and nothing came up....so I did a search and JoJo's Circus and Johnny and the Sprites don't come up....they are not on the schedule at all anymore...I don't believe this was a one time deal.....I searched their website and couldn't find anything about the changes...or if there was a mistake...
I sure as heck hope it was only a mistake this morning or my little toddlers are going to be very upset....

We noticed right away! I have a very scheduled kid and we know that once The Wiggles are over it's time to leave for school.
Have you gotten any further information regarding this change yet?

I noticed the changes too. The Wiggles were not on this morning and just like some of you said, they did not come up when I did a search. I went on the Disney website and they are not mentioned at all on there. I hope this change is only temporary. My son loves to watch the Wiggles and always start his day watching their show. What are those Disney People doing?!

What you saw this morning is the new schedule. The Playhouse block is now only 8-noon, but there are still preschool shows from 6-8. The Doodlebops, Johnny and the Sprites and Jo-Jo are completely off the grid and Higglytown Heroes is weekend only.
The new schedule is here: http://www.tvfortots.com/2009/01/disney-rolls-new-schedule-shortens-playhouse-disney-block/

Wow - JoJo, Johnny and Bunnytown are all gone - My daughters will be crushed. The Wiggles are on but not until 11:30 - (They used to be our signal for "Mommy's leaving for school")
We'll certainly be watching more PBS, Sprout and Noggin from now on. At least Curious George is safe.

Does anyone know any way to let Disney know we aren't happy with this change? My kids are up at 5:30 (central) and want to watch shows before we leave for daycare. I don't appreciate the "tween" show commercials during this time. And what happened to Emily Yeung? That was always the sign for breakfast time at our house.

We are very scheduled and we also know it is time to brush our teeth when Johnny and Lily play Johnny says and we also know it is time to get going when Captain Feathersword bids farewell. I am very upset. We love Imagination Movers, but preschoolers get very comfortable in their routines. Agh!

I'm so upset! I can't believe this! I can't imagine the mornings without Johnny :'(
I wish there was a way to show Disney how we feel! I'd sign anything! This is outrageous!

I completely agree with Desperate Mom (post #9). I'd like to contact them to complain. Anyone know who to call or have contact info?? If they don't change I will switch to another channel. We watch in the morning before leaving for work - keeps my little one occupied so I can get ready. Didn't appreciate my 3 year old seeing a commercial for the Replacements where someone called someone else a "Loser"!

How can we contact Disney to let them know the BIG mistake they have made? My son walked away from playhouse disney for the first time today telling me they don't like him because they won't put his favorite shows back on again! Shame on Disney! What an awful change!

Disney has sold its soul. There's very little quality remaining, and I've been saddened with the passing of so many programs. It doesn't even have a Mickey focus anymore. Open the vault for crying out loud.

Are the Doodlebops gone for good? My son only watches 3 shows and his favorite is Doodlebops. Does anyone know who is going to carry the Doodlebops or how to email Disney to ask them if it will return? Thanks.

My local cable provider (Tulsa, OK) states that Doodlebops is returning to morning programming on Disney channel, Tuesday, 27th January. I'll be holding my breath. Good luck to all the other shows that are currently missing.

Hi folks-
I worked on the TV show, Johnny and the Sprites. I think it's also an amazing show. Unfortunately, even though it was very popular, Disney has taken it off to give Imagination Movers more airtime, or so they say. I've had a lot of Moms and Dads ask me what to do, and the best thing to do is write emails or letters to Programming c/o Playhouse Disney. I don't have the Disney channel address but google it and you should be able to find it. Or go to playhousedisney.com. we all love the show and want it to be back on!!! thanks!
