(S05E11) "No one's better at plastering a fake smile and pretending to like someone than Bree Hodge." - Orson
Our favorite desperate characters are back! Sadly, not with a vengeance. But still, you have to admit they were entertaining this week. My favorite scenes were definitely those with Susan and Lee and those with Bree and Delina. But before we get to why these scenes were my favs, let's deal with the ongoing mystery: Dave Williams... err... David Dash.
Last we saw Desperate Housewives, we learned that Dave was somehow linked to Lila and Paige Dash, who were killed in the car accident that led to Mike and Susan breaking up. In that episode, it wasn't crystal clear that Dave was Lila's husband and Paige's father, but it was hinted that he was. Well, now that we know that he is named David Dash and that his wife died, it's pretty much a confirmation that Lila was his wife and that Paige was their kid.
Even if I'm still really intrigued as to how and when Dave will get his revenge, I find myself more interested in seeing how he will get his life back in order. I have to admit that Dave has grown on me and that I would like to have him stick around for another season or two. He may be the bad guy here and I do believe he needs to be thrown in jail for killing the doctor, setting the bar on fire and whatever else he did that we may or may not know about, but I'm sure that down deep inside he is a good man who lost his way -- and his mind -- when his wife and daughter died tragically.
After a stint in jail, some therapy sessions, a few pills and a helping hand, I'm sure Dave could be put back on the right track. Wisteria Lane is filled with people who spent time in jail or are
So where will Dave go next? I wouldn't be surprised if he crashes on Mike's couch. After all, Mike is renting the house from Dave and it would allow Mr. Dash/Williams to speed up his revenge plan as he is more and more mentally unstable. What do you think? Do you agree with me or have a different theory? Share it in comments below!
It's really sad what happened to actor Gale Harold. If you recall, around the time episode 5.10 was in production, he was in an accident. Scenes from 5.10 and episodes afterwards had to be rewritten because the actor was badly injured and couldn't come on the set. This is why Jackson was not in this week's episode (except via voice) and why the character is planning to move away. In order to give Susan something to do until Jackson could come back on Wisteria Lane, the writers gave Lee more screen time! YAY! Having Susan and Lee go clubbing, share gossip and give each other advice was hilarious! We need more of these light scenes, especially in between the drama heavy Scavo scenes. Kevin Rahm is fun to watch as Lee and having him and Bob around brings in some new storylines, joys and cheers!
The other highlight of the episode was that whole Mom Wars ordeal. Most of us thought that Bree had met her ultimate match in Katherine last season but little did we know that Melina would be a fiercer opponent. Melina has quite the attitude and is rather driven, especially when her goal is to keep her son close. It's amazing the hoops Bree and Melina were willing to go through to win the war. So far, Bree seems to be the winner but I wouldn't count Melina out just yet. After all, she called dibs on most of the holidays and the wedding will soon be held!
What do you think of Gaby making Carlos take the job he didn't want to? How long do you think it will take for him to return to the man he was in season one? Will Gaby regret her choice? As for the Scavos, are you agree with me that it's time for Porter to get home already? Share your comments, theories and opinion in comments below.

The funniest scene was the day after Susan and Lee went clubbing and bob came over the next morning and told Susan that when lee is drunk, he'll sleep with anything with a pulse and facial hair. LOLOLOL

Jay, that was only second too Lee going up to Susan's window and staring back at her after she was caught spying. Classic, and only his character could pull off something so brazen and in your face.

The one scene that stands out to me in this episode is between Lynette and Preston. What a manipulator extraordinaire our Lynette is. You just know that was a whole lot of BS. Oh, I'm sure she would have run down the man who threatened her son; Lynette is just that freaking crazy. However, crazy or not, there is no way Lynette would run some man over with her car while one of her kids watched. Not even Lynette is that crazy. I'm sure it will come out that Schilling doesn't go to that bar or even drink alcohol.
As for Gaby, this was bound to happen. Gaby is best when she's self-centered and dismissive of everyone but herself. Anyway, I'm tired of homemaker Gaby.

Yeah for once I didn't find Susan agonizingly annoying. More Lee please!

I think it was the same old...same old with Bree. Gee another crazy mother trying to manipulate someone in her family. Also the Lynette family drama...enough already. Start something fresh! Add more story lines Lee and his partner. Delve more into Dave.
It was kind of so so for me this week.

This was a ho-hum episode.
They need to get on with some of the storylines especially Dave's and Preston's.
I'm disappointed in Gaby. I thought she had grown a little as a person. Rats, just when I was starting to like her.

No Gabby is too boring when she's likable - she's so much more fun as manipulative and dressed well.
I have the same internal conflict as Carlos - well paying but life sucking job to support the fam, or low paying but meaningful and happy. it's not an easy decision, as you can see how it played out.

I kept futilely hoping for Gaby to offer to work with the blind as a proxy so they would still get the help they need but the Solis family could still make money. It would have been a small sacrifice for Gaby to make in exchange for designer clothes and shoes, especially compared to the sacrifices she's been making up till now...I overestimated her, of course...

Actually, Gale Harold had his accident in mid-October, during the filming of episode 8, City on Fire. It was nice to hear his voice on this episode, the result of the voice over they did with him in December --- the first we've heard him since the accident. He sounded dreamy. :)
