It's Dirk Diggler on the small screen. Sort of. Actually, it's the Punisher with a giant schlong. Well, sort of. HBO has picked up Hung, starring Thomas Jane for a 10-episode summer run. It's a show about a high-school basketball coach who's well ... hung. Well hung. Yeah, I meant to do that. The half-hour comedy is hoping to capitalize on the success of Entourage, Flight of the Conchords and virtually nothing else comedic on the network by using sex and a giant dong to capture ratings.Hey, if Showtime can find success with the UK's Secret Diary of a Call Girl, then HBO should be good to go, right? The best part about the article is that writer Dmitry Lipkin said, "The show is very much about what's happening in the country, how people are trying to survive using what God had given them." I guess prostitution is on the rise then, because God gave lots of women the tools to do that. And I can't wait to get started on my career in modeling because God gave me all of this (just imagine Brad Pitt and Denzel Washington and think way more beautiful).
I thought Boogie Nights was a good story that just happened to involve Marky Mark and his Funky Junk, and we know that HBO is capable of quality programming. The writers, Lipkin and Colette Burson, were involved with The Riches, which had some solid storytelling around a bizarre premise. It's just been awhile since HBO has blessed us with the good goods. Thomas Jane is a solid actor, and his name power should be able to draw the lookie-loos at least to the first episode. Hopefully, the quality will be there to keep them coming back.
The big question is going to be whether or not they're ever going to show the titular member. Remember what a big deal it was with that one little scene we saw at the end of Boogie Nights? Okay "little" may not be the right word, but you know what I mean. I guarantee you that will be a major point of discussion leading up to the premiere. In fact, I'll start it right now. So do you guys think they're going to show his giant penis on the show?

"The Life And Times Of Tim," an HBO comedy that just finished its first season, was absolutely hilarious. Does that not count?

Life and Times of Tim is hilarious. Why aren't more people covering that show?
"Tim...Timothy...terrible name". "How does Keith sound?"
"Come on Keith!"

Nothing else comedic on the network? HBO just released three comedies on the air in Summer Heights High, the Life and Times of Tim, and Little Britain USA. I only have watched Summer Heights High, but it seems like HBO is trying to build to there already existent comedies. They have also greenlit Danny McBride's new show East Bound and Down which starts pretty soon I believe.

Yeah I agree. The Life and Times of Tim was hilarious. I hope it comes back for another season. You are all right. good show but not the success of Entourage or Curb. I like the premise of the show so it sounds interesting.

Little Britain USA is absolutely hilarious. We even went back and found the Little Britain eps from the BBC. It's definitely one of those shows that watching multiple eps helps the humor tho, cause u understand the characters better. Like Anne- EH EH EHHHHHH
