Every year, we at the Squad put together our lists of what we want for Festivus. Most of it has to deal with what we want to see happen to our favorite shows. I try to go for the gold every year, however; I wish for certain phone numbers to make their way into my cell phone's speed dial. So far, though, I'm striking out big time. However, I have met all three of my desired phone pals (Anna Friel, America Ferrara, Sarah Chalke) in my various reporting travels. So I've got that going for me, which is nice.Anyway, here's my wish list for 2008:
- Some way to record and watch Big Bang / HIMYM, Chuck, and House (all airing at the same time starting in January) so I don't have to resort to watching one of them on my laptop.
- Speaking of Mother, please let them end the season with a bang. And please keep Britney as far away from the set as possible.
- More web series as well-written and funny as Dr. Horrible and Children's Hospital.
- A dignified and funny "final" season of Scrubs.
- Matt Weiner's return to the helm of Mad Men. That show won't be the same without him.
- A continued ratings decline of the reality genre (yes, including American Idol).
- That Reaper gets decent ratings when it finally returns.
- Kate Walsh's phone number (hey, she's back on the market, folks...)

I am furious they are moving House. I love BBT. When I had TIVO, it was no problem. However, I moved, and don't have it anymore. grrrrr. Bad Fox!!

Yes, the House/Chuck/HIMYM dilemma is a tough one. (Not personally a fan of BBT, but that doesn't change this situation.)
But there is a solution if you do not want to watch shows on your PC or download crappy video from a torrent site:
Of these three shows, the only one that gets repeated shortly after airing is House. New episodes of House are repeated on USA Network within less than two weeks of the initial airing. Personally, I would rather wait the two weeks than watch a crappy copy of any of these shows. I want to see all of these shows as they were intended: On a huge 51" HDTV screen.

Or find a *good* torrent site!
The networks have lost me as a viewer as torrent sites offer so much better service. I can't remember when I last watched TV. 2005?

My cable company gives us the Networks from Detroit (ET) and Seattle (PT) so I can record two shows when the first show on the Detroit channels and then another two when they show later on the Seattle channels. Ask your cable company if there's a way to get the networks from another time zone.
