Wonder Woman to appear at the NYCC

Wonder WomanIt's nice to know that creators who started in TV can still find new markets to conquer. The upcoming, animated Wonder Woman movie will be screened on the Friday night of the New York Comic Con. Animator Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series among others) will be a guest of honor at the Con and will appear on a panel following the screening.

Actors lending their voices to the movie include Keri Russell (from Felicity) and Nathan Fillion (from Firefly). Hopefully, they will be appearing on the panel as well (the announcement is somewhat vague about who will be there other than Timm).

Bruce Timm has done amazing stuff with the animated DC Universe since his work on Batman: The Animated Series. His involvement gives me some hope for the quality of this movie. Hopefully it will succeed and resuscitate the forever-in-limbo Wonder Woman movie we keep hearing about.

Now that I think about it, a young Wonder Woman series might be a good replacement for Smallville when that's finally done. Imagine a super-powered woman from an island of all women trying to understand "man's world". Just make her a teenager and the CW would eat that up.
