Elle In a recent red carpet interview with The TV Addict, Colantoni said that VM creator Rob Thomas is working on a script for a film version of the short-lived CW series. Colantoni is the latest Mars associate to get fans' hopes up about Veronica's jump to the big screen. In recent months, Thomas and VM star Kristen Bell have spoken publicly about their love for the series and their hopes for a film project. Colantoni seems confident that the movie will happen.
The actor also told The TV Addict that Thomas had possibly come to an agreement with "Joel" about the film's production. That "Joel" is most likely Joel Silver, former executive producer of the show (and about a million blockbusters, including The Matrix and Lethal Weapon). If this is true, then it looks like this project might actually become a reality. Let's just hope Thomas can fit it in while working on the Cupid redo for ABC.
Being a huge fan of the show, I really hope the movie happens. I'd love to see Thomas take Veronica's world to the big screen, away from the restrictions of network TV. In the book Neptune Noir, Thomas wrote about how he originally envisioned the show as a cable series. He was surprised that UPN didn't make a fuss about its darker themes and allowed him to stick to his original vision. This leads me to believe that Thomas will have little to no trouble getting his personal vision for a VM feature onscreen if a movie deal is made. And that's exciting, given how VM was better written, plotted and more complex than most Hollywood films these days.
Still, do you think we need a Veronica Mars movie? I agree with fellow Squader Debra McDuffee that a movie could resolve a lot of the show's unanswered questions. But, will anyone remember those questions once a movie hits theaters two, three or more years from now? Will anyone, save for a handful of die-hard fans, still care by that point?
I liked the "flash forward" idea Thomas pitched to the network before the show was canceled. Catching up with an older, more seasoned Veronica a few years later, in a completely different setting, sounds like a better idea for a movie than picking up right where the show left off. As far as the plot's concerned, I'll take anything, as long as it doesn't involve a serial rapist. We've been down that road before.

Elle Woods is the main character from "Legally Blonde." Kristen Bell's character on Heroes is/was Elle Bishop.

It's been less than one day since the airing of that Heroes episode, and you spoil what happens in your first sentence?
Come on, that's a bit weak guys.

This is what is wrong with Hollywood. The show died YEARS ago. Why try to bring it back as a movie? Move on people.
Now I own all three dvd seasons, and loved the show, but come on. If you have seen the "trailer" for what the forth season would be, it looked really bad. You would have lost all the other characters and it would be a generic FBI show or now movie. Remember Veronica, not try to remake her.

Wow, I don't watch Heroes anymore, but that was downright low for the people who still do. It aired less than 24 hours ago, and this post is not even about Heroes for people who are avoiding the Heroes posts.
Also, I'm conflicted about a VM movie. As much as I would love to have it back, I also think a movie would be a crap shoot. It could either be spectacular, but could fail miserably. People are used to the show, and had been wanting 1st season writing back up until the end.

I'm glad I stopped watching Heroes or else that first sentence would have sucked big time.
Anyway I would be 100% down for a movie, if only to see the whole gang sitting around doing nothing. I really miss the show, like a lot. I welcome the movie talk with open arms. I don't care if doesn't come out for another 2-3 years, I'm going and I'll take the 5 people I personally got hooked on the show with me. Still waiting to get my DVD sets back though...

I am watching Heroes this second! There's 15 minutes left... You've just ruined it!
Combined with no reviews of Sunny in Philly, South Park, King of the Hill, Family Guy, etc. this season and no mention of the almost-definite Arrested Development movie (big news in the last fortnight), I'm losing faith in TVSquad, please bring it back strong!

I want to see a movie, but I want the S3 questions answered and to also see more than just Veronica as it maybe 'Veronica's world', but we want to see the other people that make up her world, like Papa Mars, Wallace, Logan, Weevil, Dick, Mac, etc as it's those relationships that we invested in...

this needs to happen, please don' t get my hope up. I'll take any VM movie they do, but I do hope the high school characters, at the very least Logan and Mac, are back.

Thomas has said the movie wouldn't be Veronica in the FBI. There is no need to jump, it can still be in college.
As for the Cupid reboot, it looks like crap and that the show will be canceled in no time. The original is much better.
Great to hear its still in the works.

First, I'd love to see a VM movie. I don't care how long it takes. It was a show I loved so I would love to have more of it.
Second, wow, settle down about the spoiler. Life goes on.
