With all this talk that the fall season not exactly thrilling TV viewers (old shows losing viewers, not many new shows catching on in a big way, quirky favorites being canceled), it's probably time to start talking about what shows we can expect after the new year, at least from two of the networks. On ABC we have Castle, with Nathan Fillion as a mystery novelist who helps police solve crimes (of course he does). It starts Monday, March 9 at 10pm. ABC also has The Unusuals, with Amber Tamblyn as a cop transferred to a new precinct filled with odd characters. It starts Wednesday, April 8 at 10pm. And as we've already told you, the new version of Cupid is coming to ABC too. It starts on Tuesday, March 24 at 10pm.
The new season of Lost premieres on Wednesday, January 21 at 9pm, and Scrubs comes back on Tuesday, January 6 at 9pm.
Over on CBS, they have some midseason shows coming too. Harper's Island is a new mystery about wedding guests trapped on an island, being killed off one by one (I'm not a big fan of weddings either). It launches after CSI on April 9. Game Show In My Head is another hidden camera show, from Ashton Kutcher and hosted by Joe Rogan. It debuts on Saturday, January 3 at 8pm.
Flashpoint is coming back too. The new season starts Friday, January 9 at 9pm. And if you can't get enough of the current seasons (which haven't even ended yet), don't forget the new seasons of Survivor (starting on February 12) and The Amazing Race (February 15).

Survivor AND Amazing Race in February? This is like a dream come true! What a fast turnaround! Seems like new seasons of TAR are slow coming.
The funny thing is you mention a show with Nathan Fillion. Shouldn't you just go ahead and say "That upcoming canceled show with Nathan Fillion starring"? Wouldn't that be more accurate? The man does not have good luck with television.
I'd rather see him in movies myself anyway, he's a pretty good actor.

Castle? Cupid? The Unusuals?
No. Excuse me, but why the **** would anyone tune in to more 'quirky' dramas on ABC, no matter how good they might be, after they cut Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone and Dirty Sexy Money?
YAWN. Call me when they've been renewed for a second season--I'll download the full first seasons and watch them then.

And they're sure to be renewed if everyone had a spiffy attitude like yours!

I don't suppose you know when they are going to show the final couple episodes of season 1 of Flashpoint, do you, Bob? I am so pissed at CBS that they decided to just drop it when it was doing great! (I'm happy that they picked it up for a new season, but what about those last couple episodes!!)

Network TV's policy: Cancel the good stuff mid-season, replace with reality TV or another cop drama.
What's the count on police/detective dramas this year? I'd really like a break, please.

I think network TV has thousands of holes in its head, especially for Pushing Dasies, Firefly......
