When the Lost season 4 poster was released last season, I took a few minutes to analyze it with you and try to extract clues and spoilers from it. The biggest clues we found in that poster was the skyline of a city reflecting on the water and the number 6, also in the water. Both foreshadowed the Oceanic 6 getting off the island. It's time to resume our investigation, this time, with the season 5 official poster (see right, bigger version after the jump) which I've found at DocArzt's Lost Blog.

The "Destiny calls" line on top of the poster makes me think that this has to do with the Oceanic 6 as well as Ben and Desmond needing to get back to the island to make everything go right. If you've been keeping up with Lost spoilers, we've known for a while that Season 5 will be about why the Oceanic 6 need to get back to the island. Destiny is calling them!
The poster is divided in two: the city and the island. On the city side, we have the Oceanic 6, minus Aaron who is probably not there because he is not a series regular, with Ben and Desmond who also need to return to the island. On the island side, we have three "boaties," I assume all three are series regulars this season, along with Sawyer and Locke. In case you are wondering why Claire or Jin are not shown on the island side of the poster, Claire is said to not be appearing on the show this season (but will in Season 6) and Jin's fate is still up in the air (did he die in the explosion or not?) so putting him on the poster would reveal his fate. I guess this split in two of the poster is just to show that the cast will be divided for most, if not all, of the season as the Oceanic 6+2 are trying to get back to the island.
I know I need new glasses but my eyes don't catch any other clues. Do you see hidden clues and hints in this Lost season 6 poster? What do you think of the poster? Share your findings and thoughts in comments below!

Maybe I am being hopeful...but there is an extra space next to Miles...Will we see Jin there at some point?

Nice observation about the empty space. If you want an answer about Jin, read our collection of Lost spoilers:

Not so much a hidden clue, but to me the O6 people look very dark and sad, and the clouds above seem to look like a storm is coming, while the "boaties" are brighter and happier, with sunlight breaking though.
Could very well be obvious forcasting for how unhappy the O6 are and the island is where they really should be

Now that you mention it, the clouds and darker tones for the "city" side does make it sound like the O6+2 will be unhappy throughout their quest to get back to the island.

Am I crazy, or do I see a "4" written in the clouds next to the "L" in Lost?

I can see where you are coming from with that "4". But from my point of you it could also be an "A" or a triangle. So far, no spoilers mentioned "4," "A" or triangles, while last year, we heard tidbits about the Oceanic 6 before the poster was released. Than again, doesn't mean "4," "A" or triangles won't be important in the coming season. Maybe what you see in the clouds will indeed turn out to be a clue.

And then there's that "6" formed by the lights of the office building right next to Hurley. :-)

ugh. this poster is deeply disappointing, and i'm hoping it's merely a 'teaser' and not the official season 5 poster. it says nothing about the upcoming season, whereas the season 4 poster had a mysterious helicopter light, a subliminal '6' in the water, buildings reflected in the water, etc..
also, design-wise, this is the exact same look, feel, and color scheme as season 4, when we've had completely new looks for each of the other seasons.
imagine, if this were the season that we got to know the island natives, and the poster were covered in mysterious hieroglyphs? something? anything?
this looks like ABC promo dept. art that had to be churned out before an official campaign for season 5 has been agreed upon.
at least i'm hoping that's the case.

JMill: Nice catch about the "6" formed by the lights. Sadly, it doesn't give us more clues as to what may happen this season since we already know they are the Oceanic 6.

The '6' in the building lights to the right of Hurley are a nice trick. xD

This might be silly, but if there was no divide on the poster, it would look like Kate was looking at Sawyer.

Sawyer kind of looks like he is eying Kate too.
Everyone is standing very confidently except for Miles. He looks a nit unnerved/distracted with his hands in his pockets.

There's a lot of kind of "echoed" posing going on in the poster. Jack and Sawyer, Kate and Juliet, Sun and Charlotte, Ben and Locke (and even moreso, Locke and Juliet), Hugo and Daniel.
One other very noticeable thing I'm surprised no one has mentioned yet is the mist ("smoke"?) that is hovering at about knee level across the width of the poster over both groups.
I'm also starting to suspect, with it being so pronounced, that the direction a character is looking in may also mean.... something.
I have *no* idea what any of this actually means in relation to what's going to happen this season. I remain blissfully in the dark and eager to watch and find out. :-)

I'm wondering why the 6+2 seem to be dressed to attend a funeral. Granted Hurley and Desmond are wearing slightly lighter clothes, but everyone else looks like they're about to bury someone. Could just be that "Jeremy Bentham" is going to be important, which we already knew. I'm just speculatin'.

Hugo's head has a corona and no one else's does.
The cloud above Sun's head seems to be purposefully manipulated.
Also on the photo on the left has something funny going on with the lighting. I don't know if it is just bad photoshop but the characters are lit from different angles... some from the left, some from the right, some from both.
Juliette is the only person in the right photo looking stage left. The look on her face is almost arrogant as well.
The way Kate is holding her hand seems really unnatural.
I would really say from the "acting" from the photo graphs that Juliette is really running things on that side of the camp, but Locke thinks he is, and sawyer is skeptical about jack. The asian scientist guy (I have no clue what his name is) almost looks like maybe he is curious about hurley's abilities? I know this is a big stretch, but i think there is something to be said about their poses and what is in their eye line.
The other side that jack is the leader, kate is skeptical of juliette and hurley is creeped out or scared of jack.
Any good ideas in there guys? Please give me some feedback. I know its reaching on some stuff, but you never know.

Jesus has how many decipels? 12..... Jack MAY be Jacob..His last name is Sheperd meaning may be a clue that he is guiding "The Herd"-the Losties... like Moses did in the bible. Ben is Jacob youngest son in the bible as well. I have a feeling that Abaddon will be ending up as WALT!! When he saw Locke in the hospital he called him "Mr Locke" and said that he too went on a walkabout and when he returned he found him self... Oh yeah... Ben and Annie had a son and his name will end up being Thomas... Thats right, the farther of Clarie's son Araon
