All things Obama are doing really well right now. Not just winning the election, but the top of the charts for Senator Barack Obama's two books, merchandise with Obama's image and name, anything and everything about the president-elect is hot, hot, hot. Thanks to the first major post-election sit-down interview with Barack and Michelle Obama last Sunday, CBS's 60 Minutes had its largest audience in nearly a decade. The 6.4 rating/16 share (adults 18-49) translated into a viewing audience of just under 25 million. The enthusiasm and excitement for Obama is not unusual when you're talking about a new president. I recall this kind of buzz before Bill Clinton took office in 1993. The Clinton Inaugural even warranted a two-hour TV special that featured a glitzy array of celebrity Friends of Bill, like Barbra Streisand, Aretha Franklin, Fleetwood Mac, Warren Beatty and more.
That CBS production was also a ratings hit, and you can anticipate Obama's inaugural will follow suit, especially in light of the big Nielsen numbers Senator Obama is garnering.
60 Minutes wasn't the only ratings success Sunday night; Desperate Housewives (16 million viewers) and NBC's Sunday Night Football -- Dallas vs. Washington -- also did well (19 million), so it was not just the Obama hour that made Sunday a good TV night.
By the way, since the Obama connection is such a draw, NBC is considering changing the name of Lipstick Jungle to Lipstick Obama. If it'll get the show off the bubble and safely into 2009, why not? Okay, that's just a joke, but with all the talk about Lipstick Jungle being canceled then not canceled, you have to wonder.

They are going to cancel My Own Worst Enemy but not the Lipstick Jungle!!? Really? NBC can be beyond stupid sometimes.
Keep in mind that Obama has far higher approval ratings for an incoming president than Clinton or Bush (2000) did. I'm sure that factors into his "hotness".

This is rich:

So we've leapt back in time to note the previous Democrat president. And you've used the word "warranted."
Hmm, now can we finally admit to ourselves that the media does indeed have a bias toward the left?
This is sickening. But don't claim sour grapes...I voted for the Big O (no, not her, the other One).

Um, two points.
1) does some blogger on a TV related site seriously count as "the media"?
2) Bush came into office both times popularly, that's a fact. In 2000 he came in after losing the popular vote and after the whole Florida fiasco, and then he got reelected in 2004 with about the lowest approval ratings of any president ever reelected.

I'm not seeing any left bias here, for two reasons.
1) Allison had to go back to Clinton for an example. Bush didn't generate the sort of buzz referenced either time he took office. Clinton did.
2) Warranted is used in the sense of "to serve as or give adequate ground or reason for" (provided by Mirriam-Webster). As in CBS used Clinton's Inaugural as a reason to have a big, star-studded blowout. There's no implication of being more deserving or having it owed to him due to party affiliation there. At least that's my reading of it.
Besides, even if Allison was expressing a preference, it's a bit of a leap to go from "Some professional blogger implied Obama deserved to have a big fuss made over him" to "Oh noes, The Media has a Leftist Bias".

Don't be silly! Citing a single 60 Minutes piece and some backwater blog as proof the media is biased towards the left is ridiculous.
All you have to do is watch *any* news program outside of FOX News so see that. Too bad the boobs here can't see with their heads up Obama's ass.
To see just how far up Obama's ass these fools are, read the results of this Zogby poll: http://www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews.cfm?ID=1642
Then watch the video on this site to see just how close to an idiocracy we've gotten:

Yep folks, it's all about "feelings" with this guy and his butt puppets; facts are for losers!
