My friend and I thought it was quite obvious this episode was mostly directed at their disagreement with their passage of Prop 8 (and rightly so). I mean, think about all the skits.

1. A skit where 4 guys (and a women, but mostly the guys) are constantly kissing.
2. A skit where the prisoner talks about the guys being other guys' bitches.
3. A skit where 2 guys paint each other nude.
4. A skit with 4 guys in the car, one talking about having sex with the male taxi driver, another with a vibrating cell phone in his butt.
5. On weekend update mentioning Prop 8 and the whole pink panther and boyfriend thing.
6. A skit with 3 guys dressed up in heels dancing with Beyonce.
7. A skit with 2 police officers saying I love you.
8. A skit mentioning Prop 8 and two guys talking about it then one proposing to the other.

We feel it was quite obvious, and I say good for them. All in all, it was a funny episode, but they definitely went to a bit more shock then normal.

Oh, and also the Biden thing still sucks. Guess their only problem is Obama and Biden really don't have THAT much to make fun of compared to Bush, Cheney, Clinton, Hillary, McCain, or Palin. Hope we don't see the downfall of SNL now!

I didn't feel that the overwhelming number of gay jokes was a response to Prop 8 -- because none of them were supportive of being gay.

And why are rape jokes funny if they're about men?

Thank heavens for Timberlake's monologue -- because he's right, if he'd been on next week that is EXACTLY what the show would have been like. The fact that two of last night's sketches were carbon copies of earlier ones ("Scared Straight" and the remindable song) exemplifies the laziness of the writing staff, and Timberlake nailed that.

Also... I think the "Beyonce's Dancers" sketch would have been a lot funnier if they'd unexpectedly been GOOD.

I have to disagree with you, as it felt like one of the weakest episodes of the season. Paul Rudd's monologue was spot on, as they don't have the political card to play anymore.

And I also have to disagree about Seth Meyers anchoring solo. He has to go. I know they're in a transitional stage, bringing in new people now (at least in the credits, and not the show), so we'll see...

This episode was great. Beyonce and JT are both remarkably multi-talented, I thought haveing them in skits really brought the episode up a notch.

There were a lot of gay themes, it was noticeable, but not overdone.

I thought the episode was had it's funny moments. Thank God for timberlake though because I was laughing outloud from both his weekend update skit and the beyonce single ladies skit. With him buying an apartment in New York maybe we'll at least get more cameo's from him.

It was a good episode -- Paul Rudd fit in perfectly -- but I'd stop short of calling it the best of the season.

I was disappointed big-time with the cold open. The first show after the election and nothing about Obama?! Apparently, jokes about him are off-limits.

The beyonce dance skit was because of a controversy for her single ladies song--that looks exactly like the one they made--that one of her female backup dancers was actually a man

The reaction to the painting at the auction was the definite highlight of the show. Honorable mention to Timberlake on WU.

i love paul rudd. i was pleasantly surprise that he was in almost all the skits, and they chose the perfect host to pull off this very funny very gay episode.

They need to bump everyone scheduled for next week and make the Justin Timberlake episode happen. Nothing they do can top what he had mapped out in his head. Now next week will just be a disappointment.

I didn't care for this episode. Too many "gay" jokes. It was obviously in support of Prop 8. I fast forwarded through most of the sketches because of this.

I was completely baffled by Beyonce's "Single Ladies" song. Is that supposed to be what's cool these days? And what was with the metallic glove thing? Weird.

This was by far the weakest of the season. Wow guys kissing? Funny no.
A guy accidently giving his father a BJ at a glory hole = hilarious.

The payoff for the painting thing was so weak. The painting is so bad it makes people go crazy. Ok if I'm in eighth grad that is top quality stuff. We get it Samberg you watch AdultSwim, do something with it.

The one with the 3 guys interrupting each other was terrible.

Dancers? That was funny? I understand why its funny to see The Rock in a leotard. But JT and the other 2? Who cares? Weaksauce.

The high points come from the usual suspects. Bobby(who will be one of the strongest players in the next few seasons - watch). And the king - Keanan, perfect comic timing. The parole sketch was perfect.

Oh oh and the 4 guys in the car was idiotic. He gets shot in the the head, not funny.
"Vincent: Oh man, I shot Marvin in the face.
Jules: Why the f**k did you do that!
Vincent: Well, I didn't mean to do it, it was an accident!
Jules: Oh man I've seen some crazy ass shit in my time...
Vincent: Chill out, man. I told you it was an accident. You probably went over a bump or something.
Jules: Hey, the car didn't hit no motherf**king bump.
Vincent: Hey, look man, I didn't mean to shoot the son of a bitch. The gun went off. I don't know why. "
That's funny.

It was a terrible episode and it ran off anyone who doesn't want to spend 90 minutes of men kissing, vomit jokes and surprise "i shot my friend in the face" humor. We bailed and from the sound of the rest of the skits, none too soon. SNL is coming off a huge surge in popularity with an episode that will most certainly run off about half that audiance.

I watched the show with a friend who doesn't watch SNL much, and was surprised how every sketch had a gay factor. We started to think the host must be gay, and they're trying gay humour... or somebody in the head office decided that gays watch SNL more... who knows. I didn't think of a Prop 8 link. The fact of life is, gay humour does offend some people. Is this what passes as edgy and controversial now?

I think it's funny how I enjoy SNL every single week, but I always enjoy it less when I feel judged. When I watch with other "non fans", the show seems bad.

(Not against gays or gay humour at all... I was just surprised to see an entire show themed that way)

This is the first SNL this season that I watched the whole show. I like Paul Rudd in any movie he's done and wish I were part of the kissing family. Great show.

I watched it up to the Beyonce/male dancer sketch before I turned it off.

I enjoyed the "Biden blunder scale" cold open, the country song that just kept going on and on, and Seth's jokes during weekend update about the unarmed robber.

As a straight guy watching the show, I can't help but feel just a little bit uncomfortable when every other skit is about guys kissing, full frontal male nudity, guys talking about gay sex, cartoon characters coming out of the closet, guys speaking with the stereotypical gay voice, etc.

I figured it had to have something to do with the Prop. 8 thing, but felt it was way too overdone. They didn't have to theme the entire show (save for 1 or 2 skits) around it. What happened to good old-fashioned jokes that don't have to be "edgy" to make people laugh?

This was definitely one of the worst episodes I've seen in a while. I Think I might skip SNL next week and just watch a few choice clips on Hulu instead.

The last 15 minutes were sub-par but the rest was so totally great... I mean a story from germany on weekend update... I cried of laughter during that bit... I was on the floor on "un-armed" :-)

But I was waiting for Paul Rudd to break into the dance he did on TDS during the whole show. Man that was funny. Overall a great Paul Rudd week :-)

THe episode also shines so much brighter compared to yesterday's episode. Man that one was complete and utter crap from start to finish. Nothing remotely funny.
