(S02E06) After watching this episode, I've come up with a theory of my own: The ground is being laid for a Sheldon/Leslie romance. It has to be; why else would they pay for Sara Gilbert to come on the show and just call Sheldon a dumbass a couple of times? I can't believe that they'd waste her talents like that, so the only other possibility is that they're laying the groundwork for something bigger.
In any case, there's no hot Sheldon/Leslie love this week, but BBT does delve into the possibility of a love life for Sheldon. Since the idea of Sheldon with a lady is a jarring one, I like how they eased us into the idea by basically giving him a stalker.
It seems like every group of single friends has this happen: you're all looking for someone, but it's always the friend who's completely oblivious to everything going on around him who ends up with a cute girl coming over to his apartment to bring him dinner.
This was an exceptionally good storyline, because it really stayed true to Sheldon's character. He tolerated Ramona because she revered him, he kept her around because, as we've seen before, he's easily intimidated, and he kicked her to the curb because she dared to imply that he wasn't king of the mountain. Most importantly, there weren't any awkward kisses or clumsy, over-the-cardigan fondling, which goes along with the general consensus that Sheldon doesn't have boy parts.
I loved when Leonard, Wolowitz and Koothrappali were standing around in the hallway attempting to explain to Penny what Sheldon's "deal" is. Quite frankly, mitosis as a form of reproduction is far more plausible than Sheldon actually getting naked with a girl. Ugh. Just writing that freaked me out. As Penny said, "thanks for the nightmares."
Some other funny lines from this episode:
"Now we know what happens when you accidentally spill peach Snapple onto a helium-neon laser. Short answer is-- don't." - Leonard
"I might as well explain the laws of thermodynamics to a bunch of labradoodles." - Sheldon
"I remember when I too was deciding my academic future as a lowly graduate student. Of course I was fourteen, and I had already achieved more than most of you could ever hope to, despite my 9:00 bed time." - Sheldon
"Three tines is not a fork. Three tines is a trident. Forks are for eating, tridents are for ruling the seven seas." - Sheldon
Penny: You probably don't want to go in there.
Leonard: Why? What are they doing?
Penny: The only way I could explain it would be in a therapist's office with dolls.

Loved the episode. By the way you screwed up your quotes there, it was Sheldon who had the 9:00 bedtime, and it was Leonard who Penny was cautioning not to go into his apartment.

And Sheldon made the fork comment.

It also was Sheldon who also made the comment about being a post-grad at fourteen. If I remember correctly from earlier episodes, Leonard's college education occurred at the normal age for college kids.

I loved this episode and yes, it had some of the funniest lines ever. I lost it when Penny said "Holy crap on a cracker!" and the whole "therapist's office with dolls" exchange was hilarious. This show has really come into it's own this season and it is remarkable how well balanced the cast is.
On a side note, putting BBT on before HIMYM has an unfortunate side effect for me. It just shows how mediocre this season is for Ted and the gang. Tonight's show was "eh" at best - especially after making us wait two weeks for a new episode. I'm a HUGE HIMYM fan since day one and this season doesn't seem to have gotten in the groove yet (no Robin, no hockey reference needed there...). That fact is just magnified by how hilarious BBT is each and every week. It isn't time to move the show yet but I'm just saying that I've noticed and I'm sure others have too.

I thought for sure he was going a different direction about the fork. Everybody knows that the utensil with four tines is a fork and one with three tines is a threek.

You all were right about the quotes. I just had a brain fart when I was writing it out. They've been corrected. Thanks!

I love this show. I love the last comment by sheldon when the new girl came up to him. Leonard asked him did he realize what just happened. He looked at him and said yes' i'm getting a free dinner. Classic. he's so smart but sooo clueless

Come on: it is Penny, not Leslie, who will eventually be combined with Sheldon romantically. Leslie genuinely sucks.
