Jason told you about FOX's decision to cancel King of the Hill after 13 years. Now the Hollywood Reporter is, well, reporting that the show could come back on another network.A source at ABC says that the network is interested in picking up the show for another season. And this isn't one of those wacky rumors that doesn't have any basis in reality. A spokesperson for 20th Century Fox has confirmed that another network is interested in the show, though they won't say which one.
This could work out well for show creator Mike Judge. He already has another animated show on ABC at mid-season titled The Goode Family. Hey, if Seth MacFarlane can have a bunch of animated shows on at the same time, why not Judge? Beavis & Butthead could come back!
Maybe NBC should pick up the show, and actually have a half hour comedy that has a track record and a fan base. Or maybe Cartoon Network would be interested in the show?

You do realize that viewership has almost no relationship to quality, don't you? NBC's half hour comedies are some of the best ever made, regardless of the boobs at home that watch Three and a Half Men or the other witless sideshows that populate other networks and call themselves comedies.
King of the Hill certainly isn't any pinnacle of quality. I'm sure it will fit in on ABC quite well, but it's lack of funny would stand out on NBC.

I'd say Cartoon Network should grab King of the Hill for Adult Swim. It's make a nice fit, and they could bring the episode order to a 13 episode order. Comedy Central actually fixed their schedule around to air Futurama and South Park right before Adult Swim Kicks off at 10pm (central).

It's sad that Seth MacFarlane is the new standard of animated comedy. Ever time I start getting into a Family Guy episode, there's some stupid pointless on-off gag that has NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING. American Dad is just awful. It's like a bad version of Wait 'Till Your Father Gets Home, which was not that good to begin with.
