Dancing With The Stars
(S07E13) I think it's safe to say that everyone came into the results show this week on the same page. Whether you are for Cloris staying in the competition, or busy making sacrifices to your deity of choice as you ask for her dismissal, her fate was the big question. The judges certainly made it a tough go for Cloris fans this week, awarding only 15 points, but you just never know what will happen when the fans get to the phones. Did Cloris make it through to week 7? We'll have that answer after the jump, along with a look at Missy Elliott and The Pussycat Dolls, Michael Flatley, and more dancing kids.

The performances got off to a weak start with the encore going to the group hip hop number. I wasn't very impressed with it on performance night, and it didn't gain anything in a second look. Things picked up when the dancing kids came out. This was the first kids match-up where I actually thought there was a sure winner, and it showed in the voting.

Craig and Samantha started things off with a fantastic cha cha. You might recall their sister, Cara, as the too cute for words 8 year old that was on the show in season six. Her older brother and sister did the family proud. There was nothing negative you could say about their performance. The judges agreed, with Michael calling it sensational and noting that their parents must be very proud. Bruno said it was fantastic and they had great technical precision. Carrie Ann called them poetry in motion.

That was followed by Simon and Lucy with a samba. They were also very good, once again making you marvel at just how amazing the youngsters are. But they were just below the level of Craig and Samantha. It seemed they lacked the polish and precision of their competitors. Carrie Ann said they were wonderful and praised Lucy's shapes. Michael thought it was great to see young people dancing like that. Bruno said they really looked like they were having fun out there, and praised Lucy's extenstions. In the end, they offered a rare unanimous decision for Craig and Samantha. We'll see them return later in the season.

The Pussycat Dolls were up next, with a special appearance by Missy Elliott. Perhaps it's just not my thing, but for me, if you've seen one Pussycat Dolls performance, you've seen them all. The music is just ok, and there wasn't a lot of dance to it. Missy Elliott was good, but her part in the show was rather short. It didn't help that the main microphone went wonky at the end of the perfromance. Not the worst musical guest we've seen on the results show, but far from my favorite.

And that gets us to special guest judge Michael Flatley performing Capone, from Celtic Tiger. It was a very cool performance that got off to a great start with Flatley projected in silhouette on the big screen. Eventually he appeared on a box in the middle of the dance floor to finish the number. There might have been a few too many closeups of his feet for my taste, but overall it was great. Have a look at the extended version of the performance he did on the show in this video.

And that brings us to the results. In the first go round Lance & Lacey and Cody & Julianne/Edyta were safe. They returned later to announce that Warren & Kym were safe, while Susan & Tony were in the bottom two. That was followed with Brooke & Derek being safe, and Cloris & Corky in the bottom two. That meant that Maurice and Cheryl were safely moving on to week seven.

In the end, it's the end of the line for Cloris & Corky, at least as far as the competition is concerned. Cloris said that she wasn't ready to leave, so she'll be back next week with a pretty dress, sitting in the audience. That's fine by me. I'm looking forward to the show moving on as the stakes get raised. More performances, more pressure, and hopefully more outings that are worthy of 10s.
