(S02E08) "I have an itch only Chuck can scratch." - BlairAre we to assume the cat and mouse game between Blair and Chuck is finally over now that they both agreed it wasn't time to say the three words to one another? Somehow, I find it hard to believe that, after months and months of circling one another, Blair and Chuck will agree to be just that and stop their games. They'll need to find new preys to play with or they'll get bored soon enough and so will we.
This week's episode was not my favorite mainly because the writers wrecked my perfect Little Miss J. Every show needs a good girl that tries to make sense of life while making some mistakes and Jenny was it. Now Jenny is almost a bad seed who still has somewhat of a conscience hidden somewhere but mostly does stupid and stupider things. I get she's going through puberty but still... can we get our good girl back?
The writers made Jenny change her looks way too fast and without much of an explanation. I would have bought her new hairdo, make up and clothing style more if it had happened after she started hanging with Agnes. What makes more sense is Jenny agreeing to go to a bar or dance in her underwear with Agnes and the photographer because she wants to make it in the fashion world with her own work and the two of them offer Jenny just that while Eleanor doesn't. I must say I was growing tired of Eleanor using Jenny so having her quit the internship was welcomed news but I'm oh so glad that Nate rescued Jenny from Agnes's grip. That girl is worst news than Eleanor is.
What to think of Nate "the Hero" Archibald? He was right to save her but is he who Jenny should date now? Nate has much more experience relationship-wise and is older... He also isn't in the best family situation right now and has a troubled past. Could this brush off on Jenny? Maybe both of them dating could help Nate and Jenny stay on the right path, no? What do you think? Let your voice be heard in comments below.
Other tidbits of interest:
- I haven't read the Gossip Girl books so Aaron is new to me. Based solely on first impressions andven if Dan vouches for Aaron and Serena was "married" to him, I get a weird vibe from Aaron. He looks like a bad seed who'll turn out to be bad influence.
- "Don't forget. God always watching Miss Blair." ... You got to love the Waldorf's maid!!! She rocks even more than all the maids the Gilmores' had on Gilmore Girls.
- Something ain't right when Dan is now considered a reference when relationships are concerned!

i know it was kinda weird that jenny just went all emo all of a sudden, but i kinda liked this episode, but didn't the romance between jenny and nate appear out of no where to like her emo look. but IDK hope she can get a line without that girl who would of turned her into how serena use to be.

if you have read the books, or at least a few of them then you can get an idea of what is going on. Besides the whole crazy Jenny thing ... which doesnt follow what I've read... but she did date Nate.

I don't watch the show, but I flipped past it tonight and just thought, "What did they DO to Jenny's head?" Overall, she just looked terrible.

Well I have read all the books so Basically the whole entire show is messed up compared to it. But this did happen in the books Nate and Jenny it was one of the many times Nate took a "break" with Blair. So this was destined to happened. In the Books Aaron is Blairs step brother who has dreds and smokes menthol cigs so this new Aaron is silly. But all in all i think it still makes for a interesting story.

Haha I actually liked jenny's new look... but not her new "Miss Independent" attitude. I love this show, its one of my guilty pleasures but the suspension of disbelief needed to get through each episode is starting to annoy me. These guys are kids! Jenny is supposed to be 15 and struts around NY like she is 23 lol. Overall pretty good episode though...

I agree. Not to mention that Eleanor wouldn't have let some snot nosed punk take that dress. "You worked for me, it's mine, now piss off".

It felt as if they spliced together several episodes to create this single one. I too was like "huh" All they are going to give us is one sentence about the new look. It was too quick with no reference to why. Same with her and her new beau. He grabs her out and then they mash like crazy? Eh. This new season for me reallllly sucks. Its a guilty pleasure yes-but its soooo far fetched its not even fun to watch anymore.

I was wondering if anyone would pick up on the Cory Kennedy-The Cobrasnake thing they had going on with Willa Holland's character last night, but I guess not.

My opinion exactly. Also, there's no chemistry between the two characters/actors.
I read the spoilers and knew that Nate and Jenny were getting together but I still didn't believe it.
The emo look is hot, but I don't like the stereotype that she's become.

I actually liked this episode. Yes, Jenny's new look was an abrupt change but it often is when you're a teenager. I also realize that this show is far-fetched.... but I thought that was the way the show was from the very beginning. It's a guilty pleasure and I don't think it's meant to be taken too seriously. I just enjoy it for what it is.

When was Jenny ever a good girl? From the beginning she was a social climbing mini diva in the making ready and willing to do whatever it took to get what she wanted. How many times did she break the rules defying her father just to fit in with the in crowd? Just because she has some nice girl qualities doesn't make her the good girl. The only actual good person on this show is Eric and maybe Nate. Everyone else has their varying streaks of badness/selfishness. Jenny in the books was such a wild child her father had to send her off to boarding school ... which lead to Jenny's spin off series The It Girl.

OMG I barely saw the episode for gossip girl. I actually like this episode I actually I like all the episode lol. But wow jenny that was a big change from one day to another. Bu I digged it she looked pretty. Then I realized like later in the show that the guy who was the artist came out in the butterfly effect and in stick it. He looked hot lol. OMG Nate even tough he doesn’t come out that much in gg… I don’t understand why but any wayz cant believe him and jenny. Dam her she’s such a lucky girl. Ahhh poor blair and chuck I actually like it that they will not hook up, because then it will ruined the hole idea game. I wonder if he would hook up wit Vanessa. I also hope that jenny come p with her own line. Its seemed to me that this Weekes episode was all about jenny… but that’s cool we don’t hear much about her. An I didn’t get who that girl was suppose to be I don’t remember seeing her in any of the previous shows. I think next Weekes episode look confusing but that might just be me. Since it got cut off when I tVO it . I m happy that gossip girl is not taking two Weekes of like other shows. I don’t know if ppl have notice that but a lot of shows wont have new episodes till 2 weeks from now but yey more Gossip Girl. I have to spill my gut out because non of my friends really like this show. Actually non of them so yeah its just like the hills they hate it too lol! But yeah totally digger this weeks episode specially the hole Nate and jenny thing that was sort of a shocker.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I liked Jenny's new look.
However, I still can't stand her.
The wannabee, trying-to-be-cool act is lame.
The good girl routine was annoying and unrealistic.
She's a selfish character who pretends to be something she's not.
Downfall is well-deserved!
