(S07E11) Performance night brought with it what some viewers considered 'curious' scores from the judges. That set the stage for an eventful night of results. When combined with the fan vote, would the 21 for Cloris & Corky be enough to keep them around for another week? Or would a 21 of their own send Lance & Lacey to the bottom two? There were many ways it could go. Along the way to answering those questions we also found the Brian Setzer Orchestra, more dancing kids, and what was described as the biggest production in the history of the show. It made for a good results show lineup. And when the results were finally in... the word I would use is shocking. But that's after the jump stuff. Continue on if you want to see who left the ballroom this week.

Before we get to the results, a few words on the performances. Cody & Julianne got the encore for their jitterbug and it was just as much fun the second time around. The musical guest this week was the Brian Setzer Orchestra. That's a great choice. The only drawback was that they only got one song. What the heck? Who wouldn't have traded one of those behind the Macy's performance pieces, or the rivals bit, to see another song or two? The one we did get, "Rock This Town", was excellent, and topped off nicely by Louis and Karina in a furiously fast dance number.
We also had round two of the dancing kids. This week it was Anthony & Alisa from Los Angeles versus Mitchell & Maria from Philadelphia. Much like last week, both couples were very impressive. Anthony & Alisa put a very high energy and fun jive up against the dramatic paso doble of Mitchell & Maria. You could make a case for either of them to have won. In the end, the judges votes came down with Carrie Ann choosing Mitchell & Maria, Len choosing Anthony & Alisa, and Bruno choosing Mitchell & Maria. They'll be back later in the season, but it was a great showing by both couples.
And then there was the Macy's 150th anniversary celebration super-duper spectacular performance for the ages. Really, they kind of oversold it, don't you think? They kept building it up with all of the behind the scenes clips, and the interviews. When we finally got a look at it, it was good. But it's far from the best I've seen on the results show. I'll take a group performance by the pros, without a set that requires 20,000 man hours to construct, over that every time. Also, the choreographers, Rich and Tone, mentioned a big surprise in the future segment a couple of times. I'm still not sure what that was.
Now, getting to the results. The shocking stuff started right away. Just fifteen minutes into the show they did the reveal of the first two safe couples. Warren & Kym being safe was expected, but Cloris & Corky safe, and not in the bottom two, that had to catch you off guard. Being last in the points and jumping out of the bottom two should tell you a lot about what kind of fan support Cloris is drawing.
From there on the mystery was who would be in the bottom two. Cody & Julianne, Maurice & Cheryl, and Brooke & Derek were all safe. And then, in another surprise, Toni & Alec were in the bottom two. Lance & Lacey, who obviously have quite a fan base of their own, also avoided the bottom two, leaving Susan & Tony as the other bottom two couple. Completing the crazy night, Toni & Alec were sent home. I didn't see that coming at all. As we've seen in the past, the fan vote is a strange thing, and you really never know what will happen.
So, buckle up and get ready for Cloris in the big group hip hop number next Monday. Along with that, Len will be taking the week off. Michael Flatley is going to fill in for him at the judges table. It should be fun.

Damm what a stupid audience DWTS has. Viewers of this show sure knows how to waste talent!!!! Cloris get off your comic horse and act like a Grandmother! There must be a set of seniors in nursing homes watching sand texting. Cloris you are fuin alright...but how could you possible face those people better than you.

A good send home. It is time to get the D listers gone. Lance has got to be next. Or Maurice. Cloris is getting a fun vote from older viewers and that's fine because it is within the rules. She won't last the month, either. I didn't think the top judges' vote was the top dance of the week.

I love the show but I feel they are dragging it out way to far. Why do we need to see another hour of dances we watched the previous night?? Two hours on kick off night it was too long. We are a working family and can't devote 4 hours a week to this show. Yet I am hooked and in a delima with my family. Just wondering if I'm the only one feeling this way? Frustrated in Kansas. (by the way--my family doesn't have DVR and Cable upgrades)

They did the recap because a lot of people all over the country didn't get to see it on Monday because of football.

I personally am very impressed with Warren. How does such a big man move so well? Obviously, the fans vote on favorites not on performances. Olso, I find it difficult to judge when so many different types dances are done at one time. Someone's waltz can be great as well as someone else's tango. It's like comparing apples to oranges. I just hope that Susan goes next week.

I am sick of this series of DWTS. It is a big joke. Cloris was saved and so was Susan!!DUH!!!!!. Toni & Derek should have been saved. I am only watching the very end now because this show is a big farce. It's not about dancing at all. If I want entertainment I'll watch Saturday Night Live or something! The talent dancers don't stand a chance. Let me tell you'll I am a senior citizen giving these comments too and I know dancing when I see it!

I'm starting to believe that Cloris is still there because of Corky. I don't really believe that anyone is voting for her because they enjoy watching her...they enjoy watching what Corky is going to do with her. He is an amazing choreographer who designs the dances to her abilities. I can't believe I'm gonna say this, but I hope she sticks around for a few more weeks so I can see what Corky does with her. I just wish they would duct tape her mouth so I don't have to listen to her stupid comments!

Oh boy, I just can't wait until next week. It's gonna be so much fun to see Cloris doing the break-a-hip hop dance moves.
Not really. I am so tired of Cloris and her schtick. She butts in on every other interview and embarrasses herself on and off the dance floor. Please make her go away.

With Len not there next week, Lance should be able to get a fair judgement.

Wow I was shocked that I am here another week. Next week we have to get rid of Susan. I'm a lot better than her and she's 20 years younger than me. I think Susan went to the Kim Kardashian School of Ballroom Dancing.
Keep voting for me!!!!

This week I could not stand DWTS. All the drama for my mama! I am going to miss Toni, but I am wishing that Cloris was in fact the one that was gone. Does anyone feel that the voting is not fair with the weight of the judges and the votes of America?
