Does this new TV season seem weird to you? It's almost as if it hasn't "officially" started yet. Ratings for returning shows are down, only one new show seems like a real breakout hit (The Mentalist), and there's an odd feeling to the whole season so far. I think it's a mix of the writers strike, apprehension that shows we like will get canceled too soon, and the new habits of TV viewers (TiVo, iTunes, Hulu, AOL Video, and other online viewing destinations, etc). It's almost as if the new season won't be in full swing until Lost, 24, and American Idol come back.
Another show that a lot of people are looking forward to is Dollhouse, the new FOX show from Joss Whedon. Fans freaked a bit last month when the show's production shut down. But it was only for two weeks, and now Amy Acker explains what happened and why there's nothing to worry about (to summarize, Whedon shut down production so he could change the fourth episode a bit and catch up on scripts).
The show will arrive on your TV set and computer midseason. Now I guess the only questions are how long FOX will stick with it and whether or not viewers are ready for yet another show with heroes and a secret organization and a continuing story arc.

I'm not worried. FOX bought 7 episodes of this show without even seeing anything, I think they'll give it a chance. I mean, they just picked up terminator for a full season and it's got bad ratings. I think they realized their mistake with Firefly and are gonna give dollhouse time.

I'm a little confused. Just last week, you reported that Dollhouse was on hold because Sarah Connor was picked up for a full season. This would bump Dollhouse to the fall, eliminating the Dollhouse/24 Monday night lineup. If that's not the case, how is FOX fitting three hour-long shows into one night of television? This is a pretty swift turnaround from your previous announcement, and to be honest, it put the Whedonverse in a large freakout mode.

I would like to see Fox promoting this show more, get viewers outside of the hardcore Whedon fanbase to get excited for it as well. If its set to start in January, and its already the middle of October, giving this series plenty of pretty premire hype would be great. I watch Fringe and I haven't seen any "DollHouse" promos during the breaks. Promoting this series during Fringe and Terminator would really get viewers hyped up. Can't wait to finally see this show.

The story from last week was a bullshit rumour that should have never been reported.
This show will most likely have 13 episodes, and TSCC will have 9, that will fit fine with 24.
