So tonight is the big night when Senator John McCain visits The Late Show with David Letterman on CBS to make amends for bailing on the late night host to go to Washington to work on the Wall Street mess, only to stay in New York and do an interview with Katie Couric instead. As it turns out, Senator Joe Biden is going to be talking to Jay Leno on NBC around the same time. Could they each be bringing a guest with them to the late night talk shows?Rumors are spreading that not only will Sarah Palin join McCain on Letterman's show, Senator Barack Obama could join Biden on Leno's show. While it would be hard for Obama to appear on Leno's show because it's taped in California, Leno hinted at the possibility earlier this week.
Palin could show up because McCain's debate with Obama was in New York last night. McCain told Letterman on the phone that it's possible she could come with them, though Letterman highly doubts it will happen. Bandleader Paul Shaffer says that she should come on because "that's really the only way I think he can make up for what he owes you."
That Shaffer. Always a troublemaker. I'll be watching both shows tonight, that's for sure.

The show is filmed at around 6, isn't it? He could probably make it to the taping and then fly to New York in time for the fundraiser, I think.

I hadn't considered the time difference. Still, it seems like a lot of trouble to go to just to appear on both coasts on the same evening. Our tax dollars at work!

So Leno has mentioned the possibility of a surprise on Monday and Tuesday but did not say anything about it last night when he was saying that Biden will be on...Likely because the plans fell through

or at very least, obama could appear via sattelite.
as for McCain bringing friends, as long as there's one other person in the room, that person would probably count as his friend, at least according to his debate rhetoric

If Letterman doesn't call out McCain for being a liar he is worthless.

I BET McCAIN DIDN'T TELL LETTERMAN ABOUT SARAH PALIN SUPPORTING THE ALASKAN LIBERATION PARTY WHILE SHE WAS GOVERNOR OF ALASKA. THE ALASKA LIBERATION PARTY IS AN ORIGIZATION THAT WANTS ALASKA TO SUCCEED FROM THE THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. -
