(S02E03) "I'm living in a Lamborghini. You can't imagine how little leg room there is." - Von Hayes
I have to be honest, at this point, I am really over Chuck's crush on Sarah. Even if he had a realistic shot at landing a hottie like her, he has already acknowledged that while he is the Intersect, he can't be in a serious relationship. Isn't that why he stopped dating Lou? it just seems that he and Sarah have a lot on their plate right now and unless he wants to be the under qualified half of a Mr. & Mrs. Smith scenario, he needs to accept that their relationship is a cover and nothing else.
Since we're discussing tired premises, did they really do a jocks vs. nerds storyline? I thought Chuck was above that sort of thing. Never mind that fact that it really doesn't make sense that employees from another store spend way too much time using demo equipment that can be easily turned off but Chuck has always been a show that celebrates geeks and geek culture and to see the show sink to the level of Revenge of the Nerds is a sad sight indeed. On the plus side we did get to see Michael Strahan's brilliant acting skills.
Is it just me or has it been too long since Sarah Lancaster has been in anything besides her scrubs? I had actually forgotten that there are two gorgeous women starring on this show until she showed up at the Buy More.
Another part of the show that I've seen enough of is Chuck cowering and screaming every time bullets start flying. I know he's reacting honestly but it's gotten old. It reminds me of Ralph Hinkley still trying to master flying on The Greatest American Hero.
I enjoyed seeing Steve Valentine again and it made me realize how much he added to Crossing Jordan. Seeing his hyper-intensive act made me laugh just like it did back in the crypt with Bug and Dr. Macy.
While Sarah can clearly take care of herself, I find it hard to believe that she would be in the hospital without some sort of backup. How is she supposed to defend herself when she's asleep or unconscious. While we're at it, is it really that easy to find out the room number of a total stranger in a hospital?
While Bryce is obviously cut from douchebag cloth, I was always willing to cut him a break because of how he saved Chuck from being recruited. However, he wore out his welcome in this episode. It doesn't seem realistic that he would come into the scenario that Chuck, Sarah and Casey have tried to perfect and assume there is a place for him. Moreover, are we to believe that a guy who gave his life to destroy the Intersect and then be brought back from the dead could still be hung UPI on his ex-partner?
Maybe they're nitpicks but I had a lot of problems with this episode not the least of which was Mitt's unfunny and racist Yoko comment. To sum up, with the exception of the last ten minutes, I really didn't dig this episode

yes, it is that easy to find someone's room number in a hospital. Even easier if you call to ask!

the yoko comment was racist?
snerk.
seriously, if we lower the bar on 'what's racist' any more than that, we might as well bury said bar.

Generally people who are easily offended by a harmless comment/joke are only offended because they have a deep-down resentment of their own feelings of hatred. If it's so racist, wouldn't it be white people with blackface and asianface (I think I made that up) telling those jokes?

Wow, I'm pretty much done reading your review. Talk about a crap-load of negativity. Please give the review over to someone else. I disagree with pretty much everything you said. I thought the scenes with the nerds vs jocks were hysterical. So what if it's reminiscent of Revenge of the Nerds. Does every plot line have to be completely original? Also, practically every show invented always has the star-crossed lovers. Get over it!

Indeed. And I have to wonder what that Intersect Update was all about.

I am sorry but this was a bad review. I disagree with most of what you said.
I don't find anything racist about that yoko comment. Too touchy are we? Also chuck and sarah is cute. You get over it.
The episode was great. Tuesday (I download after it airs) is heavily loaded for me with a lot of shows I watch - HIMYM, GG included. And Chuck is getting top download priority!

Great episode, bad review. There was nothing racist in the Yoko Ono comment, you're manufacturing things to be upset about that aren't there.
There were silly things of course, like Sarah being left all alone in a hospital room, but there were also great moments. Like Chuck and Sarah putting their happy faces on right before going into the door. It was nicely done.

I think the entire nerd vs jock sub-plot was solely for product placement. EA Sports and John Madden Football, how much screen time did it get? Much more than a 30second commercial and you didn't/couldn't ff through it.

Yeah, this review seemed overly negative on what seemed like a pretty good ep.
The Geeks vs. Jocks thing was great. If nothing else, this is a show that mocks the spy genre. This backstory did the same for the Geek vs. Jock thing.
And the Yoko comment was funny, and not particularly "racist"
Also, you think it was intentional that the guy was named Von Hayes. (He was a baseball player in the 80s, who played for the Phillies, who are now 1 game away from the world series)

I was totally weirded out by that actually. Von Hayes is a completely random 80s ballplayer from Philly, but it's such a random name, so why else would they name him that? Or maybe one of the writers is a Phillies Phanatic and did that as a secret inside joke to baseball fans.

I have to disagree with your panning of this episode - I enjoyed it. Not quite as much as last week's episode, but IMHO it was great overall. I think it struck that elusive balance of drama and comedy quite well, especially at the end.

It was a decent, though not perfect, episode. And yes, it is that easy to find out what room a patient is in.
