Obviously, this is in the "rumor" category, but Elizabeth Hasselbeck might be leaving The View for Fox News. It's probably just a stunt anyway to get a higher salary. It's not likely there aren't other women of conservative ideologies in the world who couldn't replace her. If it does end up being true, it would be a mistake for her to leave.Even if you don't agree with her views, the mainstream publicity of her on-air feuds (such as the one with Rosie O'Donnell that made Rosie leave the show and start her own variety show. Let's blame Hasselbeck for that one) make for great ratings. Actually, she represents a demographic of woman that could stop watching the show if she leaves.
Naturally, I'm not what you would call an avid fan of The View. Quite the opposite. In fact, if I go to Hell when I die, I'd likely end up in the audience of The View. But even I recognize a bad career move when I see one. At Fox, Hasselbeck would be one conservative voice among many. On The View, she is unique.

Brad, you say, "It would be a mistake for her to leave," then you say, "She represents a demographic of woman [sic] that could stop watching the show if she leaves."
So do you mean it would be a mistake for her to leave or a mistake for the show to let her leave?
I've never watched the show myself, but I think she'll do just fine if she heads somewhere else.

I disagree completely. It would be a good move for The View if she left, over the last year the most enjoyable episodes of the show were when she was on maternity leave. The last couple days for example have been nothing but her immature tirades on par with a child. It has left me stunned that she hasn't been put into a corner for a time out, especially after attacking Barbara of all people a couple days ago.
I'm sure they can find another young female conservative that's less closed minded that can stop when it is getting too heated up without looking like a brat. I doubt it will make that big of an impact as far as rating, and those who watched it solely for Elizabeth will move onto Fox where her extreme conservativeness are one in the same.

I agree, if she feels better to be in an area where everyone agrees with her, then so be it. I think elisabeth is a sweet person w/o the contreversies, but she is too one sided, (on the election), it doesn't matter what McCain/Palin does, they are GOD'S gift to the world, and Obama is a no good human being. She never comments on the things that come out about their pasts, that's erelevent, cause Obama is a "Devil" to her. What she should do is join the McCain/Palin camp instead of Fox. At least my stomach won't be so upset when she gets started with her whinning and outbursts. Barbara tries to calm her and tip-toe on her feelings, but she's a big girl, maybe when the election is over, she can take a vacation.

Honestly, this woman is probably the biggest idiot/b!tch alive. Her views are moronic, she's never willing to listen to anyone who doesn't agree with her and she's got an annoying voice to boot. I watched her "answering" questions on Sarah Palin (or like Sarah Palin, they are basically the same) and all she could do was attack Barack Obama (without any actual support behind her attacks) and avoid the question. She was never schooled by anyone but the Catholic Church, so why is she allowed to spread her diseased views on TV?
It's only fitting that Fox News would hire this moron with no qualifications or skills simply because she's got backwards views on EVERYTHING. Fox News once again proves that you have to be a retard to watch it.

Actually, as a California voter, I am free to vote for a 3rd party candidate thanks to Obama's big lead. I'd only vote for Obama if I was in a state where McCain might win. I have never been a registered Democrat, was a Libertarian until the primaries when I switched over to the GOP to cast my vote for Ron Paul. In November, I might vote for Barr (the Lib candidate), but he's changed his beliefs a lot since he left Congress and it's hard to trust him. Nader is annoying and not all that great as a paper candidate either. Cynthia McKinney is probably the only other person I would consider voting for.
I just think that anyone who takes Fox News seriously is retarded (it's the propaganda wing of the GOP) and people who gain celebrity status from "reality" TV do not deserve to have their opinions heard unless they have some qualification to back it up. Going to 16 years of close-minded Catholic schools doesn't count. Instead of offering any kind of reasoning for Palin's VP run, she went on the (false) attack on Barack Obama. Those who attack Obama for his experience but then support Palin are fooling themselves. Obama was TEACHING THE CONSTITUTION when Palin was covering the Snow Machine races on local TV.

I love Hasselbeck. She's hot and she speaks her mind.
She's the only reason why I *sometimes* watch the "View". If she wasn't there it would Joy Beahr spouting garbage and no one there to correct her. I give it to Whoopi and Sherri for somtimes going against Joy.
Barbara is a train wreck on that show. She should be the one that leaves. She's not funny and it looks like she's socially unaware. She actually thought Bill Clinton was coming on to her?

I'm a conservative & I think it's refreshing to actually have someone in the media that has the same values as I do. 99% of the media seems to be liberal & they always get to rant about their opinions. But when one lone woman speaks her conservative mind, she gets blasted for it. Barbara is evil in my opinion. I used to like her, but her political opinion has been made very evident this election season. I tell ya, Elizabeth has nerves of steal to stay on that show. There is no way I could do it.

Elizabeth Hasselbeck is a closed minded idiot that should of been left on that island on survivor. She has about as much knowledge as a pet rock. When something is brought up about McCain, she always manages to answer it with a Obama question. Get a grip lady and go away, please just GO AWAY!!!!

I think that the panel on "The View" (abc) is completely letf wing. Every time Elizabeth try's to speak the other four panel members out speak her. This is completely upsurd! I think that she should move to FOX where she can say what she thinks is important.

I don't understand how FOX Fake News got a seat on the view. Anyone that has seen Fox for even a few minutes can see that Hasselbeck is just parroting what FOX tells her. Can't she come up with a thought of her own? Why not just put a TV in her seat turned to FOX Fake News and save having to pay her. Then Hasselbeck could be part of something that she believes in, out sourcing American jobs.
