Survivor: She is Obviously Post-Op!

Sugar is just a bit like Betty Boop
(S17E03) "I'm like an animal in the jungle. I want to prounce on someone." - Paloma

What is it with this season's castaways on Survivor adding in an extra "r" whenever they feel like it? Last week it was Michelle saying "frickle" instead of "fickle." Maybe it's some new fad or tied in with the internet folks who put an apostrophe whenever they end a word with an "s." So, we have this "r" thing going on, a man with a questionable British accent, and a blond Betty Boop, and one castaway is is beginning to look like Peter from Heroes as he gets scruffier. I think it's going to be a decent season. Read on past the jump for the review!

Pondering the castaways
At least the Fang tribe made a comeback tonight. Although I think they're horrible together, I still didn't want to watch yet another season with an entire tribe picked off one by one. Michelle may be gone, but Randy's singing her song. "They're all idiots." Randy has some valid points, but I still don't like the sense of meanness I feel about him. That and his axe-murderer eyes! Nonetheless, they are truly one sucky tribe even though they won both Reward and Immunity tonight. GC once again quit in the middle of a challenge. I have a feeling that unless his personal life in the game is at stake, he's not going to really push to win anything.

Over on the Kota tribe, I'm becoming less and less enthralled with Ace and his questionable accent. Oh, and the way he runs the show, too. I got a kick out of Paloma trashing him. Had she known that Ace told the others he wanted to put a "contract of death" on her, she probably would have "prounced" him. I was starting to get really impressed with Sugar until she made that incredibly stupid move telling Ace she found the hidden Immunity Idol. Did you notice how all of a sudden Ace was referring to it as "our" Idol? Argh. As I watched her on Exile Island, I was entertained and she did seem pretty commonsense bright. I hope she keeps an eye on her Ace. But no matter what, I want to call her Sugar Boop, Betty's blond sister from the future.

What will you do for bedding?
I couldn't believe how brutal the Rewards Challenge was, could you? One person hanging on a post, two others prying him off and dragging him over a finish line ... kicking and struggling all the way. Now, I hate to give Ace credit because I've deemed him obnoxious but I understood his plan of throwing the comp in light that the same people can't sit out twice in a row. But the credit stops there. Putting Paloma on the pole was almost evil. They found out that Crystal can be a powerhouse and deemed her stronger than most of the men on Fang. "She has to be post-op!" said Charlie.

Slip-n-Slide Immunity
I liked this one. The water slide looked like fun! Of course, we don't know if the editing made the tribes look as close as they appeared. I'm always a bit suspect of editing in reality shows. But Ken and Bob, the two men on the entire show most likely to be the puzzle-masters, were in a dead heat at the end. Either could have it ... either ... and the gameboy wins! So, Fang ended up with two wins tonight and turned the game around.

The scheming and Tribal Council
I mentioned editing earlier, didn't I? Well, dang, I fell for it once again. Sure, something nagged me that it was just the editing. But I honestly thought we might see a blindside of Ace from the Onion Alliance (which brought Bob in for the number and could line up the vote however they wanted). I don't think it would be the right move to make this early in the game. Maybe two or three weeks from now before they go into the merge. Coming off two losses in a row, it's not the time to get rid of a strong player. So, there goes the week. I admired Paloma's spunk but she was weak and not fitting in with most of the others. At least she went out speaking her mind. Kota must be thinking along the same lines as I did as the Onion Alliance voted her out.

Do you think Ace will take advantage of Sugar in the game?
