What we don't see on Survivor - VIDEOS

Survivor GabonI've been a Survivor fan since the first season of the show. Now, that was back before widespread broadband internet connections and the official show website mainly had the bios, recaps and some photos. But now it has content there, especially videos, which catch us up on all the things we miss in the 40-odd minutes we see weekly on the television.

In last week's double episode it looks like more show ended up on the editing floor than it did on the show. And I'm here to share some of that with you!

First I want to take a gander at what was said as they voted off Gillian. On the show only one castaway's words were recorded. But here we have it all. I love how Ken said that Gillian isn't a nice old grandmother, that she's another person under the mask. Meanwhile, Gillian said that Ken is clueless as she cast the sole vote for him. Randy kind of scares me with a crazed axe-murderer gleam in his eyes.

Then there's Michelle. I wasn't impressed with her whining and derision of others on her tribe. When I saw the full content of her last words, I'm glad she's gone. How the hell does she think she's so smart and perfect? "Fat people stick together. Old people stick together." She went on about how stupid everyone else is, yet in this video she said they're "frickle." Pot. Kettle. Black.

While Michelle complained about the lack of physical prowess in others and how fit she is in comparison ... she isn't and it shows. In the above video she complained that her clothes didn't suit the conditions. In the next video, she whines that she's cold because she's so thin. Well, duh. You think fans of the show going on to be on the show know that the castaways always lose weight! I think Michelle comes across as a very self-centered person who blames everyone else for her problems. Yeah, Fang is a losing tribe, but had she not whined as much as she did, she'd probably have made it further than the first episode.
