Another new TV show bites the dust.EW's Michael Ausiello reports that Fox has cancelled Do Not Disturb. The network won't confirm anything, telling TV Guide that the critically-panned sitcom is "pre-empted" next week.
This comes on the heels of the show's producers apologizing for "perpetrating bad television," but asking critics and viewers for a second chance. Guess they'll never get it.
It's no surprise that fall's first cancellation is a) this terrible, unfunny sitcom or b) a show on Fox, which tends to have happy trigger finger. I'm sad for Niecy Nash, who ought to be on network television -- but at least now she can move on to better things.
Are you surprised that Do Not Disturb got the axe? And what do you think the next cancellation will be?

Good.
Can they bring back Back to You now?
I'm hoping the next canceled show is Til Death, but that doesn't look likely.

I second that, the only god thing about 'Til Death was Kat Foster. The show was a lot more palatable with the Woodcocks than it is with Kenny

I watched a little bit of and I didn't like it. Thats typical FOX though, they come down quick.

Fox may indeed come down quickly on a show, but in this case at least how many people would be willing to argue that the decision was premature based either on ratings or the quality of the show? Not many outside the actual production itself (and probably not all that many inside it) I'm willing to bet.

Not a bit surprised, this show was awful. I didn't think Jerry O'Connell could do worse than last year's Carpoolers, but it seems that I was wrong.

Don't you miss the old days, when a crappy sitcom could get four or five seasons and an (inexplicable) syndication deal in the can before anyone tried to cancel it?

Hey, if it can happen for 'According to Jim,' by God, all terrible sitcoms can dream ....

Oreo nailed it, bring back "Back to You." Not only did "Do Not Disturb" or "Do Not Watch" suck, but it showed "Till Death" or "Till I figure out there's something better on" was a lousy lead-in. If it was BTY then TD then I may watch both shows.
Oh, two words I believe killed off DND, South Park.

This kind of makes me sad because while this show is horrible, I really, really loved the cast. Especially Neicy & Jerry. And the red haired guy deserved a better show. Everyone from the actors playing the plus sized model to the young bellhop to the dumb blond will be missed by me.

I wanted to like this show because it's a new idea, but it is just TERRIBLE. FOX is actually doing something right. Just bring back, BTY, and cancel the dreadful Til Death. I can't believe i survived one episode of Til Death or Do not Disturb. The hotel looks too fake. I cant believe that this is the best hotel in NYC, because most of the staff is terrible, unprofessional, and annoying. That bellBOY looks like he's 15 and he gets it from hot rich guests. Yeah right!!

That bugged me too, the hotel looked nothing like a hotel, looked more like a hospital with the cold whites and greys.

I watched both episodes and almost laughed one time but it didn't come out.
I like Neicey but the storyline wasn't funny. Jerry O'Connell did the best he could with his lines.
The storylines about a birdcage with women in it was weak.
The other episode "Work Sex".... i can't even remember what it was about and I saw this Wednesday online.
Sad.
Well, at least they did get paid for 13 weeks despite the cancellation.

You know, I'm sad and I'm glad. I'm sad because I think Neicey Nash is hilarious, Jerry O' Connell a good actor and was surprised by the on-screen chemistry they had. I'm glad, because the show sucked and O'Connell and Nash were the only two people I wanted to watch. The show's base idea is good, but the writing, directing, execution, laugh score, refusal to actually explore the themes they mention, and everything else is bad.
However, DND reminds me of B2Y. They both took known, proven actors, publicized the heck out of the first eps, but didn't actually give the talent the script to work with -

It got around 3 million for its second week! Surprised it took Fox that long to cancel it.
