Jerry sits and stares into space well

(S10E27) "This is the first time someone actually did what they said they were going to do for me." - Jwry

Isn't that just too touching? You did realize that Jerry, one of the final three houseguests in the Big Brother 10 house is 75-years-old, right? I'm not sure if that's been mentioned during the season. Ah, anyway, it's down to the final three and tonight's show was all about the three-part final Head of Household competition and the final eviction of the season. The final HOH winner decides who will go into the final two with him and from there it's all up to the jury members which one will win $500,000 or $50,000. That's quite the difference, but what's a hamster to do? It's all in the game.

HOH part one
When we last left those lovable house hamsters, they were balanced on their own individual airplanes in the "On a Wing and a Prayer" round of the final HOH comp. The winner of the first round will automatically advance to the third round while the losers have to face off in the second round. Got that?

So, there we are watching the fools on planes when all of a sudden we're at Keesha's eviction again. Huh? How did that happen? A schmaltzy Diary Room segment from Jerry showed how touched he was that Memphis kept his word and kept him in the house. It's followed by Memphis telling us that he kept Jerry because he was old (75), couldn't see or hear well. He and Dan are sure they can beat the old guy. So there's your loyalty, Jerry! Dan, in his own Diary Room session, tells us that he told Keesha bout the trip with Michelle and told her to "finish it" meaning she should follow through to make sure he gets Michelle's jury vote for the win. He also let us know his comment about Memphis not getting his vote due to the Keesha eviction was staged. Well, duh.

Memphis is on a wing and a prayer

As if planned by a higher power, Jerry was out of the competition in short order. He slipped, he fell, kaput. Then we went back to Diary Room segments in which Dan spilled the beans on the entire Renegades plan for the comp. They knew Jerry wouldn't last and then Memphis was supposed to go down shortly afterwards, letting Dan win the round. But Memphis ended up having a mind of his own. He thought it would look too suspicious if he went down too soon, so he hung in there worrying his best bro Dan. But he eventually went down. Dan only squirmed a little bit.

After all three were down, Jerry told Memphis how much he appreciated him. From the Diary Room, he told us that there's a nice side of Memphis he never realized was there earlier in the game and he's sorry he didn't see it earlier. In typical BB editing, a quick cut to Dan and Memphis scheming. "Memphis, you HAVE to win the second part!"

HOH part two
Well, this was a new one. After so many seasons and so many competitions, totally new ideas are few and far between. In this one, Memphis and Jerry, one at a time while the other one was in a room in the house, went to the backyard. They had boxing gloves on and they had to knock down full-size cut-outs of all the houseguests. But it wasn't quite that easy. There were ten rounds. In order each round they had to knock down all but the HOH and nominees for each week.

While they cut the action back and forth between the two, they never saw how each other was doing. Memphis went at it floating like a butterfly and stinging like a bee at the start, but then started doubting himself. But man, when he moved, he moved quickly. He just wasn't all that sure of the house history at times.

Jerry is confused in part two of the HOH comp

But it was Jerry who was a hoot. Technically, unlike the previous part, Jerry had a chance at this one. But, nah. He had no chance at all. He was confused by the third round (week) and it was all downhill from there. Each round, he'd stop and look at the cut-outs and say, "I'm confused." It reminded me of the first season of Survivor when Rudy was stopping at each point in a challenge saying, "I don't know." In the end, Memphis finished in 8:35 minutes while Jerry took a whopping 51:22 minutes. No contest at all. In yet another Diary Room bit, Jerry tells us how embarrassed he is about his time. But he'll be more embarrassed when he sees the next edit cut to him in his tidy-whities. Ew, my eyes! Round three will be between the Renegades, Dan and Memphis.

But first ...
Julie Chen chats with the hamsters for a few minutes. When asked about his performance, Jerry said that his brain has been waterlogged since his fall into the pool. He hopes that maybe (or maybe not) one of the two will take him with them into the final two. Memphis responded to Julie that the choice between evicting Jerry or Keesha was the hardest one he's had to make in the house. She asked Dan if the mood has changed in the house. Now, that's just a ChenBot kind of question, isn't it? Of course it has changed! Dan told her that you can almost smell the half-million in the air.

Keesha enters the jury house
Renny isn't a happy juror. "We're here because we lost a half-million dollars and have to decide who wins it instead of us! We're losers!" But what's more interesting is Michelle and her reaction to her luxury trip with Dan. She's been back for more than a few days now and has obviously had her ear bent by April. It's her plan to let whoever comes in the house know what a snake Dan is -- he took her on the trip and didn't tell them! Meow.

Meow, it's Michelle and April

But when Keesha arrived, before Michelle could say much at all, she told Michelle that Dan told her all about the trip. I could almost see Michelle deflating. She was so sure she was going to expose Dan as conniving and it just didn't work. (Although we know he bamboozled her.) She told them all what a great player Dan is and how that mean Memphis did her in. Then they watched the DVD of the eviction. In a Diary Room type session to us, Keesha didn't seem to be as certain what a snake Memphis is and seemed to be leaning towards thinking Dan also had a hand in it, but she repeated that he's a great player. I think we know who her vote will be for ... if he makes it.

HOH part three
This was back to familiar territory. Dan and Memphis were set up in little individual adjacent booths in the living room. Julie read them statements made by a jury member. Each statement had two possible endings. They had to decide which ending was what was actually said, then the juror appeared on the screen and finished the sentence. Supposedly, it shows how well they knew their fellow hamsters. They received one point for each correct answer and the one with the most points wins.

If Libra could go back, would she change her alliance or her behavior in the house. It was her alliance and Dan got his first point.

Who did April think coasted under the radar -- Jerry or Memphis? She said Memphis and Memphis got it right.

Which did Michelle think was the best strategical move in the game -- her winning HOH and getting revenge for Jessie's eviction or them backdooring her? She said being backdoored. Bot got it right.

Which was Ollie's fatal error -- trusting Dan or letting his heart in the game. He said heart, both got it wrong.

Which moment irritated Renny the most -- Jerry taking out his dentures and washing them in the kitchen sink or Jessie being a punk and disrespecting her on national television? She said the dentures, Dan got it right.

Which moment was more uncomfortable for Keesha -- her 30th birthday or the night before her eviction? It was the night before her eviction. San got it right, winning the final HOH comp!

Bye, bye birdie - the eviction
So, it's up to Dan the man with a plan to decide who will go into the final two with him. Jerry gave a nice plea to stay. He played the game strong, always kept his word except to Brian in the beginning but that was forced, and congratulates Dan. Memphis took a cue from a previous speech of Dan's -- he said there have been ups and downs like a roller coaster, Dan put him on the block twice, but "it's times like this that you look in the face and see if you're a true renegade." Dan was very nice to Jerry, but quickly evicted him. By the time Jerry walked out the door, Dan had a matching bandana of the one that Jerry wore through the last part of the HOH comp.

To give Jerry a bit of credit, he told Julie that the move to evict him might have even been planned by the two. But then he said he thinks he did himself proud, his family proud, the show proud, and CBS proud. Um, wel ... I'm just not quite sure what to say other than he was a bit differently portrayed on the show than some of his actual behavior in the house. Dan and Memphis both left him nice goodbye message, no shockers there. Hey, they want the jury votes for the win.

America's Vote
No, don't get all excited -- we don't get to vote on the winner of the season. But we do get to vote for our favorite juror. Although the show gave out a pay-per-call text number for voting, you can vote for free at the CBS website. I always think free is better, don't you> My votes will be for Renny because she entertained me the most this season. Not only that, but she cooked great meals for them all summer and actually worked!

Which juror should get the $25,000?
