No doubt about it, the TV viewing world loves Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In fact, there are some of us ... ahem ... who just can't seem to let it go.Yeah, I just called the kettle black, as I mourn for Buffy like no other show in the history of television. However, now that a massive mulitiplayer online Buffy game has been announced, I am wondering if all the Buffy love has gone just a bit too far.
I could stomach the previous video games, mostly because they weren't purchased by anyone in my household, and I have even been known to read the season eight comic books (which may or may not have something to do with the storyline of the MMO game). Maybe, just maybe, I am wondering if it is time for all of us to just let Buffy rest in peace.
We'll always have the DVDs of seasons one through seven, and I for one will continue to visit them often. But much in the same vein as the forty-seven Rocky movie sequels, shouldn't there come a time when we know when to let go? Don't we want Buffy to come out on top, remembered as greatness embodied?
OK, most of that post was pretty tongue-in-cheek, as I really have no beef with an online Buffy game. It may even have some merit as a trip down memory lane, in real time, with other "fictional friends" disguised as the Buffy characters we all love.
Then again, it could be a husband-stealing, relationship-ruining, home-wrecking Big Bad ...

It'll probably never see the light of day. This the same company that announced the Firefly MMO and then quickly dropped it.

They've never dropped it, it's just never gone past the announcement stage.

Vaporware.
They announced it to get funding. This will be a dud just like the Stargate SG-1 game.
Take a popular name, get cash, pretend you are working and then cancel the whole thing all the while driving a Porsche to work.
