TV Obits: Pate, Keller, Mosel, Priestley

A roundup of TV people from in front of the camera and behind the scenes who have passed away.
- Michael Pate: He was a veteran Australian actor who appeared in many TV shows over the years, including Batman, The Rifleman, The Time Tunnel, The Rat Patrol, Matlock Police, Hondo, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Disneyland, The Wild Wild West, Daktari, Get Smart, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Zorro, Wagon Train, Alfred Hitchcock Hour, Lassie, and a ton of westerns. He was also the first person to play the Felix Leiter character, in the 50s TV version of Casino Royale. He appeared in several movies, including Houdini, Major Dundee, The Silver Chalice, Howling III, Return of the Gunfighter, PT109, McClintock!, and Sergeants 3. He died of complications from pneumonia at age 88.
- Sheldon Keller: He was a writer for several shows over the years, including The Dick Van Dyke Show (three episodes, including one of my favorites, "All About Evesdropping"), Caesar's Hour, House Calls, The Dinah Shore Chevy Show, The Danny Kaye Show, M*A*S*H, Temperature's Rising, and several Frank Sinatra specials (including A Man and His Music). He was also a producer, composer, and director. He died of complications from Alzheimer's at age 85.
- Tad Mosel: He was a TV writer too, writing for such shows as Playhouse 90, Studio One, Armchair Theatre, General Electric Theater, The Philco Television Playhouse, and others. His play All The Way Home won a Pulitzer Prize, and he wrote the screenplay for Up The Down Staircase. He died at age 86.
- Mark Priestley: He was a regular on the series All Saints and The Secret Life of Us and also made appearances on Water Rats, Blue Heelers, and The Farm. He was also in the films Better Than Sex, Blurred, and Loot. He committed suicide at age 32.
