As a fan of Grey's Anatomy from the beginning, I was disappointed with last season. The characters were wandering around with seemingly no direction, Meredith and Derek were getting on my last nerve, and there was a storyline that revolved around resuscitating a deer. It was not exactly the finest example of television I had ever seen. Regardless, I'm excited about the fifth season, premiering on September 25. Shonda Rhimes has always struck me as the type of producer and writer who listens to fans and can remove herself from her product enough to realize that something isn't working.
It seems as though my faith is already being rewarded. In a new promo for season 5, Rose, the nurse that Derek had been dating while trying to get over Meredith, drops a bombshell: she's pregnant! Now that's a way to get me interested in this storyline again.
Video of the promo and spoilers about Rose's revelation follow after the jump.
I would find it pretty hilarious if Rose was actually pregnant, since she and Derek only slept together once. Yes, I know that once is all it takes, but come on. When it's two consenting adults who pre-plan their sexin' and know about birth control; it's pretty unlikely.
So unlikely, in fact, that it's completely untrue. The promo isn't a trick--Rose actually says to Derek, "there's no good way to say this: I'm carrying your child." The thing is, it's a total lie. Now lying about a pregnancy? That's kind of at the top of the "What not to do if you don't want to be labeled a 'crazy bitch' and run out of town" list. Not coincidentally I'm sure, the two-hour premiere is the last episode in which Lauren Stamile, who plays Rose, appears.
While this sounds like a juicy storyline, I'm glad it's getting dispatched quickly. I'm in absolutely no mood for another love triangle involving Meredith and Derek. Are you glad that Rose is soon to be out of the picture, or do you wish she would stick around and remain a thorn in Meredith's side?

Thanks for ruining the premiere a bit for me with the above-the-cut spoiler. Can you fix that for everyone else who's going spoiler-free?

Dude. Take it up with ABC. Anything before the jump has already aired. All unaired info is after the jump.

Just because it's aired doesn't mean everyone has seen it. I certainly don't keep a vigil on the ABC primetime block each night.

I agree with Nate, spoilers should be after the break. That's very unprofessional...

Can we lay off the spoiler whining please? It is not a spoiler since it is currently airing in ABC's promo for the season premiere... therefore it's officially a tease.
Of course by being a tease, it's not real and likely a dream/nightmare sequence.

Which is easier, for you to keep track of what a network has aired, or for the rest of the world to keep track of what you watch? Hmmm... hmmmm...

I'm not usually that spoiler-phobic, but usually when I read the site in my RSS reader I usually can avoid every spoiler. Not this time.
I wouldn't normally react the way I did, but I think that it's good common sense not to spoil something that some may not want to know about.
Also, it's summer. I don't usually watch ABC after May or before September because I don't care about repeats or reality TV. If this aired on ABC, I'm sorry that I didn't know that it aired on the network. I just want to make sure the spolier-phobic don't accidently end up reading something they don't want to know about.

Since when are commercials spoilers? I'm going to have to side with the writer on this one. If you're trying to remain spoiler-free then it's your responsibility not to read the post. The headline says "Grey's Shocker" and "Secret" I mean if those aren't spoiler warnings I don't know what is.
The spoiler whining has gotten so out of hand.
Point blank if it's aired and the public has had the opportunity to be exposed to it it's not a spoiler. Commercials and promos are not spoilers.

The real spoiler is she's Merediths' twin brother who was actually who was given up at birth but after a accident had a sex change.
Hell thats more viable a storyline than some of the drek.

I agree with Nate AND Bebop.
If you REALLY want to avoid any spoilers you should stop reading at the title "Grey's Shocker."
Having said that, I do think that putting the spoiler below the cut is common practice and is expected.
Finally, saying that "It is not a spoiler since it is currently airing in ABC's promo" is kinda ridiculous. The networks are the WORST at giving away spoiler-y info on their promos and should be avoided at all costs.
Anyway that's my 2 cents.
Also, for those interested, "Ask Ausiello" has some more info about this promo.

It is sad that Rose's character from last season (an understanding nurse with a great personality) has been reduced to a stereotypical bitter ex-girlfriend.
