September first brings Labor Day, back-to-school, impending autumn, and... Cinemax HD. TV Squad received a press release stating that as of September first, Cinemax will be the only 100% HD channel, promos and all.So what's this mean to us as viewers? I'm having a hard time wrapping myself around this one. Sure, they mention some new-ish movies they will premiere, like The Bourne Ultimatum, Shrek the Third and The Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. But to me, Cinemax is synonymous with B movies from a decade or so ago, one of those channels that you get for free in your cable TV movie package bbut never watch.
I know what you are thinking... your burning question that you are too embarrassed to ask...
What about Cinemax's late-night original programming, fondly earning Cinemax its nickname, Skinemax? Will there be HD of that?

How can any movie network be full real HD when pretty much all of them show films older then what 5 years (rounding it off)? If the films were not filmed with HD cameras they aren't true HD.

Yea, where did you get the idea that regular celluloid couldn't be shown in HD? The truth is, that regular film has a far higher resolution than the most expensive digital technology, and can be made into the most fantastic looking HD releases. This explains why old B&W films like Casablanca look gorgeous in HD (if they are properly restored and remastered, of course).

Have you watched Cinemax lately? Their movie releases kick HBOs and Showtimes in the ass. They are the ONLY channel to watch for movies any more, and I can count on something premiering every weekend.
I have Dish Network and they have had Cinemax in HD for quite a while. The only channel not in HD has been MoMax.
Take a look at their schedule before saying they are a B movie channel. Things tend to premiere on Max and then later flow to HBO and such, including the hits Live Free or Die Hard (freaking incredible in HD) and Transformers!
When you're done looking, come on back and say you're sorry for offending them. LOL
