I got a great letter this week from a TV fan named Jim R.

"Dear TV Squad, About 15 years ago, I watched an episode of a scifi/fantasy TV show wherein an Elvis impersonator traveled back in time to meet (and eventually kill) the real Elvis. Could you please tell me the name of this program? Thanks"

This one took a little research but when I finally found the answer, it brought back the memory of actually watching the episode.

The show in question is an episode of the 1986 version of The Twilight Zone called "The Once and Future King."

In this episode, an Elvis impersonator winds up traveling back in time and meeting Elvis just as he is on the brink of fame. He convinces Elvis that he is the spirit of his deceased twin, Jesse, and then accidentally kills Elvis in a fight. Then he must take over for Elvis and become the ultimate impersonator.

This was one of the better episodes of the new TZ and starred Jeff Yagher as Gary the impersonator as well as Elvis Presley.

Little known fact: Yagher played the role of Tommy Hanson in the pilot for 21 Jump Street.
