I am older than Sesame Street.That's the first thing that went through my head when I saw that the show starts its 39th season today on PBS (check local listings for time). This means that I must have started watching the show when I was around four years old, which seems strange to me, but I've learned never to argue with Bert & Ernie.
It's amazing how long the show has been on and how many generations of kids it has taught/entertained. I was over my best friend's house several months ago and watched the show with his kids. My friend and I watched the show when we were kids too, and it was interesting to see the show through other eyes. It's also interesting that characters such as Big Bird, The Cookie Monster, and Grover are still going strong when they should probably be middle-aged.
The show has launched a new web site to coincide with the start of the 39th season (Annie wrote about a video preview of the season last month). Jessica Alba and Kim Cattrall are going to be guests this season?

Sweet! I was getting tired of the same episodes over & over from last season. I'm not quite sure why they don't even run anything from only a year before...

Just wanted to throw this out there: please DO make posts about some of the awesome guest stars this season. I really want to see the NPH appearance, and some of the others look awesome, too, but there's no way I'll remember to watch on a specific day.
