Chuck Schumer"Indecision 2008: To Drill or Not to Drill": High gas prices continue to be a huge problem across the country, as citizens have been weeping into their gas tanks just to get something in there. Naturally, drilling is a hot topic in the current presidential race. The media has also been making a big deal out of Obama's suggestion that citizens check their tire pressures, as adjusting to proper numbers does some nice-nice things to gas mileage. Leave the lolz-making to Daily Show, Fox News. Also, I don't believe the remark about Oedipus and President Bush created quite the mental image that they intended. I'm having trouble looking at Barbara Bush now.

I know Mrs. McCain is kind of a cougar, but how awkward was it for McCain to volunteer her for that "beauty pageant" at that Bike Week? Research, research, research. I would also like to note that Stephen Colbert did the suggestive banana bit better than that chick from the footage. And yes, I'm just using this as an excuse to share this classic video.

"Back in Black": Lewis Black has something else to promote? Well, all right. He's got a new CD, "Anticipation", coming out, so he stopped by to talk about various dictators being dickish across the world. If you were into this, read more about Radovan Karadžić, Omar al-Bashir, and Robert Mugabe. Two things: I hope Lewis Black never has to say "part-ay" or "[something] got served" ever, ever again. Ever.

The night's guest was Senator Chuck Schumer of New York. Kicking off with a hilariously ironic blurb from Hillary Clinton on the cover of his book Positively American: How the Democrats Can Win in 2008, the conversation quickly became deeply involved in the topic of the upcoming election. Then that turned into a big Obama lovefest. Republican viewers -- all three of them -- were heard jabbing their legs repeatedly with their "Obama's Energy Plan" tire gauges, just to distract themselves. The rest of the discussion was pretty straightforward, with the Senator talking about becoming an Obama supporter after campaigning for Hillary Clinton and the Democrats' plans for super-quick attack ad response.

Jon/Stephen: More tire pressure mockery. Stephen Colbert has a better idea, involving driving right on his rims, sans tires. Moment of Zen: McCain is flustered about paying four bucks a gallon for gasoline.
